No excerpt from IHE allowed, story here.

To summarize, an engineering education magazine publishes a letter by a professor critical of homosexuality, and many are appalled.

Hasn’t he heard? Pointing out the unhealthy lifestyle of homosexuals is not allowed.

He unveils facts, and is attacked? Yes, the leftists are hard at work.

He must have noticed that from an engineering perspective a nut and bolt together are a
functional unit while a pair of bolts or pair of nuts are practically useless on their own.

Well, why not have an engineer write about the problems from going on the off ramp, so to speak. Those commenting only seem to see that he points out the problems of the lifestyle and take offense that he should have the temerity to do so, as if it was a hate crime.

The stats are out there, on AIDS, suicide, and a host of other social maladies closely linked to homosexuality, and the down side of those choices should be pointed out.

I see nothing unusual in an engineer indicating the flaws in a concept, dispassionately, and without enmity for those who have the misbegotten ideas.

That the engineer is attacked just reeks of trying to kill the messenger--it does not change reality.

Is there a copy of the original letter around?

In the name of tolerance this individual should be drawn and quartered. We can not tolerate such intolerance.

I looked at back issues on the magazine's website, and they have articles on "diversity" and gay engineers. If the magazine is going to go there, it should be open to responses.

Allowing the “damaged persons” to function in critical areas is risky, far more risky than the public has been told. Homosexuals have significant behavioral differences and vulnerabilities than the normal human.

The same applies to the “disabled”, but often more so and more obviously.

Example time. A friend had a fifty foot long sailboat with a mast designed to safely clear the standard 65’ bridge - ideal height for a video I wanted to make. We were talking about his bringing it from the Palmetto, FL area to Ft. Myers, Florida and up the Caloosahatchee River so that I could acquire video footage illustrating the migration route of Manatee, and their winter season warm water refugium at the Ft. Myers power plant.

The nearly 65’ main mast on his boat would have been fitted with cameras to provide the visual perspective I wanted. Bridges on the Inter-Coastal Waterway are supposed to be 65’ above the water.

One bridge on the route up to the manatee refugium has a 56’ clearance.

Why is it 56’ high instead of 65’?

Think dyslexia, that’s why.

There are fields where reasoned and prudent adults require other reasoned, prudent, and fully functional, adults where critical tasks must be successfully performed.

Otherwise, what one may call ‘Low Bridge’ situations are unavoidable.

This is your “Heads Up” call.

A number of the commenters held that “God made them that way” and “Gay people are born that way”. Unfortunately, there’s ZERO evidence for that thesis, and LOTS of evidence it’s a choice people make.

I don’t have to honor or respect those who choose to eat feces, or molest children, or whose idea of sexual relations includes beatings, etc. They could claim to be born that way too. What makes homosexuals different ?
