WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — Sen. Ted Cruz began a filibuster Tuesday with the intent of defunding the Affordable Care Act, known also as Obamacare.
The Texas Republican noted while on the Senate floor, “I intend to speak about defunding ObamaCare until I am unable to stand.”
Cruz additionally asserted that Democrats are not listening to their constituents in regards to the health care law, which is set to take effect Oct. 1.
“I rise today in opposition to ObamaCare in an effort to speak for 26 million Texans and 300 million Americans,” Cruz asserted. “It is time quite frankly to make D.C. listen.”

I remember the movie “Breaking Away”, where the main kid was a very good bike racer. All he needed to finish and win the 50 mile race around a stadium track, virtually at sprint speed, were three other bumpkins who could pedal in a straight line for just a lap or two.
Cruz is experiencing a Holy Spirit anointing to speak in compelling, diligent, printable prose, without notes.

He’s on his own when filibustering, until he cannot stand or speak any more. On the positive side, he takes the credit for bringing his cause to the forefront for the American people.
I just wish he had Reed (sick!) to hold a relief pitcher to empty his bladder as the occasion arises.
