One man's ObamaCare nightmare (Many more to follow)

Andy and Amy Mangione of Louisville, Ky. and their two boys are just the kind of people who should be helped by ObamaCare. But they recently got a nasty surprise in the mail.

"When I saw the letter when I came home from work," Andy said, describing the large red wording on the envelope from his insurance carrier, "(it said) 'your action required, benefit changes, act now.' Of course I opened it immediately."

It had stunning news. Insurance for the Mangiones and their two boys, which they bought on the individual market, was going to almost triple in 2014 --- from $333 a month to $965.

The insurance carrier made it clear the increase was in order to be compliant with the new health care law.

"This isn't a Cadillac plan, this isn't even a silver plan," Mangione said, referring to higher levels of coverage under ObamaCare.

Hey, the jug-eared moron said you could keep your plan, it just left out the part where you’d be paying 300% more. Oh, and here’s another little thingy the lying POS left out... it’ll continue to rise every year thereafter.

“Well I’m the one that does the budget,” said his wife. “Eventually I’ve got that coming down the pike that I gotta figure out what we’re gonna cut what we’re gonna do, to afford a $1,000 a month premium.”

It’s obvious what they should do, drop the insurance, save the $1000 a month and then pay cash for any medical issues. For any major medical expenses then pay it out like a car note.

If they don’t have health insurance then they have to pay the fine/penalty/tax to the IRS. It’s a no-win situation.

Ted Cruz is doing the right thing but the RINOs in the Senate will win the day. The House on the other hand needs to stick to their guns. The House GOP needs to just ignore any other bill passed by the Senate then tell them “we passed the budget and any rejection is in the Senate”.

Didn’t the liar-in-chief just say that for most of us, our premiums will be less than our cell phone bill? I don’t know about the rest of you, but my monthly phone bill doesn’t come anywhere near a thousand a month.

I’d like to know what they were getting if a family policy was only $300 a month.

they are now being required to add all these new benefits to their policy.

They are requirements but are NOT benefits. A benefit is a convenient and useful thing. Benefit is not just a made up label. It is a real word and its use by the government is perverted.

So a few million people like this need to march on Washington with torches and pitchforks and start making their points to the McConnells, Boehners, and Obamas of the world in person with a lot of heat. Other than that, prepare for servitude.

Correct! It’s more socialized medicine. Everyone is being forced to pay for all kinds of things that he may not want nor need. Young folks paying for grandpa’s prostate tests, and grandma and grandpa paying for the young folks’ maternity coverage. Everybody paying for Aunt Fannie’s weekly counseling sessions for her emotional problems. It’s not real insurance, it’s shared costs.

Pay cash and for big ticket things, go offshore. The prices will be much lower and the “procedures” will be much more likely available in a timely away. Research international health insurance for the big things. It is available and will become more so. Combine heart surgery with a nice hotel stay and a trip to somewhere in the Caribbean or Thailand.
