Skip to comments.'2 Broke Girls' Premiere: 'Texas Hates Women, Florida Hates Blacks'

The minds behind the CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls thought it might be clever to catch viewers up on what they missed during the summer hiatus. They also figured they could hammer home a pair of false liberal memes at the same time.
The show's season premiere Monday night featured Max the waitress (Kat Dennings) attending to a young male diner.
"I've been out of town all summer. Anything new?" the customer asked her.
Max proceeded to rattle off a series of pop culture anecdotes, name checking Chris Brown, Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber and Oprah Winfrey before turning political.
"The NSA checks our phones like a crazy ex-girlfriend ..." she said, and then added, "Oh, and Texas hates women and Florida hates blacks."(continued)

Not me. I can’t stomach what is on TV these days.
I rarely watch sitcoms and I’ve never watched this.
I’ve never even heard of it, but it sounds more like they are making fun of liberals than supporting them??
I don’t think anyone needs to. The premise? A rich, privileged white girl loses her rich, white privilege and learns about how poor and oppressed the rest of the world is and discovers how rich, privileged white people are all compassion-less bastards who don’t give enough free stuff to those who don’t have their white privilege. That’s it, that’s the whole plot.
American TV is a crap fest
Well there is always Duck Dynasty and Sons of Anarchy. Other than that, The Wire, despite some of the creator’s warped views, and The Shield were the last shows worth watching on tv.
Travis McGee (Matt Bracken) got name checked on the debut episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Agent Coulson indicated that he had recuperated from a near death experience (The Avengers) by vacationing on Tahiti, reading Travis McGee novels.
It was pretty cool. I sent Matt private email.
It is in the 3rd year. One more year and it will be syndicated and on tv for the rest of our lives. Full House seems to be that way right now.
Agent Coulson can never know the truth...
I think one of them has nice juggs.
>>Does anyone here even watch that show?<<
Mrs FD and I watched it for a while, but eventually all the sex (they didn’t even bother with innuendo) just made it look like a badly made porno flick where they cut out the naked bits.
Great premise, terrible execution, stupid show.
Nope. And mainly because Kat Dennings wears way too much lipstick. (Sad, right?)
NCIS hopefully will clobber this tripe.
Every other girl in Hollywood has those. Dime a dozen.
And 2 Broke Girls hates comedy.
My wife watches it and that’s a really good summary of the show. It is completely worthless, and I make snarky comments every time I wander through and it’s on.
I thought it was cute and funny new show until one character asked the other what she should do if her boyfriend did something nice, and the answer was “anal”
not once, but twice
That’s that show where every joke appears to be mechanically delivered to the point where the canned laugh-track is more spontaneous.
they both do
I tried to watch a sitcom on FOX a few months ago, it was either New Girl or Mindy Project or something... the main character wanted to know what it was like to have sex with someone else and her boyfriend was all for it.
And she did.
And they were okay with this.
I like the brown haired girl with the big boobs.
Kat Dennings’ decolletage is rather more impressive than normal, 100% natural, and she seems to keep them covered and strapped down far more than she tries to show them off. You KNOW the producers of the show are probably begging her to be more open with her necklines for ratings, but she hasn’t started using them that way yet. Hats off to her for both having and not using natural DDs in Hollywood.
“Oh, and Texas hates women and Florida hates blacks.”
Translation for those who don’t speak the self-destructive language of the pop-cult weaklings:
shallowood hates innocent babies (which Texas protects) and anyone who refuses to be a victim (which Florida protects).
>>NCIS hopefully will clobber this tripe.<<
I am not sure I can live without Ziva.
Kate, no problem (and she looks awful as a blond on Police Lesbos) - I was glad to see her go.
The producers had better have some huge rabbit in their hat if they want to keep their audience...
I am not a big NCIS L.A. fan, mostly since I don’t believe in magic: I used to live in Marina del Rey and no human being has ever gotten a parking spot on any frontage road adjacent to the Venice Boardwalk.
I watched it once for 5 minutes by accident. It is so unfunny that they need to provide a laugh track to tell the audience what the jokes are.
That is highly shocking considering it was created by Joss Whedon, who is probably about as far away from Travis McGhee politically as you can possibly get.
Do you still consider NCIS a quality conservative show? I know it used to have that rep, but to my knowledge that rep as a good conservative show has badly faded over the years. Plus, I think characters like Abby and Ziva probably repulsed and revolted many conservatives to start with.
And also, I think only one of the actors, the guy who plays Ducky the Medical Examiner, is anything remotely resembling a conservative unless I am mistaken. Am I?
Hell on Wheels
Worst show ever
I was visiting family and someone put it on
For starters Terrible acting, they don’t talk, they instead just scream everything at full volume in monotones.
The one episode I saw, it was one of the girl’s first booty call and she was so proud she is now officially a slut. The next day she is scratching her crouch on one of the tables at the diner she works wondering if she got something from her romp.
The other girl commented that whatever she got, she now gave to the table.
After numerous pleas with threats of vomit the channel was changed before we found out which exact disease she obtained.
There was also a joke about a guy with one testicle, how it’s no big deal because guy’s parts are ugly whether they have one or 2.
I am nearly un-offendable, but this show was beyond gross & nasty. Shows like this I can see why people hate America.
You really like Ziva that much? Ziva seems to be the type of character that many traditional conservatives wish would just vanish from their TV screens forever, to be replaced entirely by characters of the Bruce Willis/John Wayne stripe.
Damn, didn’t even know about it. Looked it up and am frankly floored that t a show like that actually made it onto the small screen at all.
And it is also rated 8.2 on imdb which is VERY high (the highest rated shows are like 9.2-9.5)
What is it with women and an inclination to watch stupid crap on TV? Mine watches Breaking Bad and the only thing I can think of is breaking up with her every time she watches that stuff.
“but it sounds more like they are making fun of liberals than supporting them”
That’s what I was thinking too. But then I remembered this is Hollywood.
Perhaps my point is better made with visual aids:
And this, the final point in that it is just her being her:
But attractive women on tv are still a dime a dozen, what makes her so special among them, when again she is still the type of female character conservatives tend to laothe with a passion?
Never heard of it.
I figured Coulson on the show would be an LMD, and tonight’s episode did nothing to change that speculation.
For the most part tonight’s episode of Agents of SHIELD was pretty good, but the black “hero” was a sad stereotype of an African American stepped on by “the man”. I was hoping this show could avoid preachy liberalism, but, alas, ‘twasn’t so.
Most of network TV is garbage, but I like The Neighbors. I think it and Duck Dynasty are two of the best family shows on the tube.
I don’t get it either. She’s incredibly smart and successful professionally, and has been voting straight ticket Republican since long before she could vote, and then she watches complete junk/crap TV like this.
Burn Notice didn’t suck despite Fiona (or rather the actress who played her) being an uber lib.
Otherwise agree 100%.
She’d entice you to compromise your core values?
That tells me you really don’t have core values or character.
I hope you don’t have access to any classified materials.
Oh yeah, and no matter how hot you THINK she is (she looks a bit like “Ponch” from “CHIPS” to me) someone else is sick of her crap.
I read every Travis McGee novel ever written.
I suffered with Mayer and even his silly affection for Keynesian economics (JDM never did get into it, thank God).
The Green Ripper was a great novel but so damn depressing I almost gave up on the series.
Good to see McGee carried in modern entertainment.
>>But attractive women on tv are still a dime a dozen, what makes her so special among them, when again she is still the type of female character conservatives tend to laothe with a passion?<<
* She has a consistent value system that she hews to, even when it would be easier to give those values up. Liberals don’t have values, they have agendas.
* She is fiercely loyal to her friends and adopted family (in fact, when confronted she supports those she loves over those she was blooded to).
* She loves the USA unconditionally: when she became a citizen she treasured it and has come all the way to death’s door to defend us.
* I have never heard her state any liberal positions (other than being a very female female in a man’s world) — she tends to be apolitical in what we call politics.
Maybe I missed when she started becoming a “type of female character conservatives tend to laothe with a passion” (sic)
When was that and what are those characteristics?
I tried at the series premier and it seemed idiotic.
I prefer Duck Dynasty.
Simple solution: all the Blacks in Florida go to Texas and to all the Texan women, in the immortal words of Jim Dooley, “come on down!”
