East Point Police are looking for suspects in an attempted carjacking and beating of an 80-year-old man.
It happened September 14th as Creston Portis was returning to his East Point home after visiting friends.
East Point Police Lt. Cliff Chandler said the crime hit the police department hard because the victims son used to be a police officer with East Point. This crime is particularly disconcerting to us at the police department, he said. We are particularly concerned at the level of violence that was exhibited by these perpetrators.
Police said Portis was approached by two males and one female after they blocked him in his driveway. They were driving a black Mercedes Benz, according to police.
The two males were armed with at least one handgun and threw a brick through the passenger side window and began striking Portis in the head with the gun.
UPDATE I: Police have surveillance photos of a black male and two black females that are persons of interest in this crime as well as two vehicles believed to be involved. Lt. Chandler said they were using the victims credit card at a convenience store. The police also have pics of the two cars believed used in the crime.
The police have photo's of the people using the victims credit cards and photo's of the vehicles they used in the crime.
Social Security now needs to be handing out handguns and ammo along with mandatory range practice.
Cowards, cowards, cowards. Beating old men is just cowardly.
Guess I’m going to have to start taking some lengths of my dog’s hose (she loves the flowing hose and chews the end shorter every day) to the range for practice against two of these perps.
The victim’s son was a cop and the old man walks around town without means of self defense?!? WTF?!?!
At times it can be deadly.
Some old white guys are armed.
remember these animals are basically cowards...yellowed bellied cowards....they attack only when they have the numbers and if the intended victim is alone, frail, female,or mentally challenged...
Only in states were the 2nd amendment is still considered part of our constitution.
I wuz surprised at age 55 to find out I was an OWG. Now that I know, I’m more prepared.
Most places if your son was a policeman and you get injured by thugs, it is almost like the thugs attacked the police. Very serious mistake.
This is about 10 days old and almost nothing in the press about it. More of Obozo’s people feeling empowered and acting out?
It is very much considered part of the Constitution in TX.
Guess there are places now that are not gun friendly. More ComDem Insanity.
I used to carry a spare mag.
I now carry two.
Who needs 36 rounds of .40 golden sabres?
Because I can, and will, at all times.
Got an email about OCare prohibiting gun ownership for those 55 and over.
Did anyone else hear this?
Every time I’ve seen blacks on video trying to rob some place and the intended victim pulls a gun and starts shooting, they run like rabbits.
No and if it is suggested, I will not comply.
Same concept..... Obamas CHANGE has me adding a third spare mag as well..... His promotion and passive encouragement of feral criminals reinforces my choice as yours for high capacity multiple spare mags for EDC.
Sad state of the nation....
Gun up folks, get initial and recurring training as this threat is real and local to you and yours.
Stay safe GR.
No one should.
“I wuz surprised at age 55 to find out I was an OWG. Now that I know, Im more prepared.”
I have a CHP for that very reason. Can’t run well, bad back and hip, not as strong or quick.
55 ain’t the new 35 by a long shot.
Can I assume that East Point is in Texas? It helps to know all the facts in a news story.
east point is south metro atlanta, between downtown and the airport basically.
Likely stolen too.....
I would not be surprised to find out that Eric Holder is running a massive protection racket aimed specifically at whites.

Sadly, when this 80 bought his East Point home it was was a nice suburb. The fungal rot has spread 30-40 miles outward at this point.
I guarantee if this had happened when my father was still living and the victim was his father or mother, the parties responsible would be found hanging from the nearest pine tree.
No, East Point is in Georgia.
Sorry, it is often unclear from web postings. This is one of those cases.
