Spring Hill, TNMichael Patrick Leahy, co-founder of BEAT LAMAR, today announced a series of BEAT LAMAR Conversations with Tennessee Republican Party State Executive Committee members that will be held in each of Tennessees 33 State Senate Districts. We will invite the state committeeman and committeewoman elected from each State Senate District to the same BEAT LAMAR Conversation in their district, said Leahy. These will be informal events held at local restaurants where BEAT LAMAR volunteers will have an opportunity to share their views about the proper role the Tennessee Republican Party should play in the upcoming August Republican Senate primary.
On Monday, September 23, BEAT LAMAR and Tea Party groups from around the state of Tennessee sent a letter to Chris Devaney calling for his resignation as Chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party for his repeated violation of the partys by-laws . These violations included his signature on an August 31 fundraising appeal that amounted, in effect, to an endorsement of Lamar Alexander. In the BEAT LAMAR letter, the group gave Chairman Devaney until 5 pm Tuesday to resign, or it would take its case directly to the State Executive Committee.
As of Wednesday morning, Chairman Devaney has not resigned, nor has he responded in any way to our letter, said Leahy. Therefore, BEAT LAMAR has chosen to initiate these BEAT LAMAR Conversations with every member of the Tennessee Republican Partys State Executive Committee.
Leahy noted that BEAT LAMAR has already extended several invitations to State Executive Committee Members to participate in the BEAT LAMAR Conversation in their respective districts, and those invitations have been accepted. The first of the 33 planned BEAT LAMAR Conversations with State Executive Committee members will be held on Saturday, October 5. BEAT LAMAR will release the full schedule of BEAT LAMAR Conversations as locations are secured. Leahy said he anticipated all 33 BEAT LAMAR Conversations will take place before the end of the year.
Leahy acknowledged that some members of the State Executive Committee may initially be reluctant to participate in BEAT LAMAR Conversations. Well hold the BEAT LAMAR Conversations whether one, two, or neither State Executive Committee member in the district accepts our invitation. Leahy said. But I would remind each of the 66 members of the State Executive Committee that they are all seeking re-election to their positions on August 5, 2014. That is the same day that Senator Lamar Alexander, whom we intend to defeat, is seeking to secure the Republican Partys nomination to be on the ballot in the 2014 general election to represent Tennessee in the United States Senate. We already have 600 door-to-door volunteers, and we expect that number will exceed 1,000 on primary election day in 2014.
Leahy added that BEAT LAMAR may establish a Tennessee political action committee legally authorized to endorse and campaign on an independent expenditure basis for candidates for state offices, including Tennessee Republican Party State Executive Committee members.
BEAT LAMAR is a project of the Real Conservatives National Committee, an independent expenditure Super PAC located in Spring Hill, Tennessee, that focuses on the development of a conservative ground game infrastructure. Michael Patrick Leahy and Lorie Medina are its co-founders.
Someone needs to slap them up across the face.... and knock some sense into these politicians. They need to run FRAID.
Beat Lamar! is organizing the base for a strong ground game that is getting underway now.
Leahy = Socialism/Communism....Lamar = The Republic...Lamar is a RINO light, much better than the Socialist/Communist Patrick Leahy.
Well, then they had better show their faces South of Nashville, and pass Jackson.
Wrong Leahy, dude.
Michael Patrick Leahy is a Tennessee TEA partier, not a Yankee Democrat Senator.
...”That’s Hedley!”
