WASHINGTON — The Treasury will only have $30 billion of cash on hand by mid-October, putting the United States on the precipice of an unprecedented default, the department said on Wednesday.
The warning puts additional pressure on a hamstrung Congress, which is already struggling to prevent the federal government from shutting down over a budget impasse on Oct. 1.

Oh, the drama!
Cloward & Piven, the goal.
The portion of the federal debt subject to the legal limit set by Congress first hit $16,699,396,000,000.00 at the close of business on May 17. At the close of every business day since then, it has also been $16,699,396,000,000.00.
I can almost certainly guarantee where most of the cash has been re-directed the last 5 years; into the pockets of politicians. If there is a meltdown of epic proportions guess whose homes the ferals are going to torch first. Are you listening, Washington. The very people you used to elect yourselves are going to be the very ones lighting the maltov cocktails they throw at your doors. We won’t have to lift a finger. You did it to yourselves.
When the cash runs out, you quit spending or you cut what is not needed, committed, but not yet spent.
The revolutionary war character in the new TV show “Sleepy Hollow” is flabbergasted at a 10% tax on coffees and donut holes. He noted that the colonies had gone to war with the king over 2% taxes.
The second revolution should already be starting.
By mid october my cash on hand will be about 150.00 dollars, but I will manage...and not board my house up
Cut federal spending for local governments, if you want to see a conservative political party in the future. The socialist spending gives socialists in both parties the money and time for political activism.
HA HA HA, I loved this little exchange in the TV Series SLEEPY HOLLOW ( Ichabod Crane falls asleep for 250 years and wakes up in modern day Sleepy Hollow ):
My love for the program was cemented by doughnut tax outrage.
The exchange begins at around 10 minutes, right after the opening credits, but here’s the transcript of our heroes’ conversation over a breakfast-on-the-go of doughnut holes:
Ichabod, looking at sales receipt: “Is this correct? This meal cost $4.95?! Dear God. With an additional tax of 41 cents?”
Then there’s some nontax discussion of Ichabod’s witch wife Katrina — no, I’m not editorializing, Katrina was/is a witch — and how he didn’t know because she was keeping it secret to protect herself, him and the American Revolution effort.
Ichabod: “I understand, to you it sounds ...”
Abbie: “Insane when spoken out loud.”
Ichabod: “No, what’s insane is a 10 percent levy on baked goods. You do realize the Revolutionary War began on less than 2 percent? How is the public not flocking to the streets in outrage? We must do something.”
Abbie: “Here’s what we can do. No more firsthand accounts of witches or Founding Fathers or doughnut tax outrage unless you want to be sent back to the asylum.”
Ichabod: “Point taken.”
What are the chances Zero declares a national emergency and confiscates bank savings including 401ks and IRAs. That’s about $16 trillion.
The question for all in the exchange is “How is the public not flocking to the streets in outrage?”
The answer is the same as in 1776. It takes a smaller number of determined patriots to start the ball rolling so that the rolling ball gathers more supporters and gains speed.
It is time for a second revolution, past the time to move against tyranny that is supported by our so-called elected “representatives”.
“Struggling—”? Congress is STRUGGLING?? I only wish there was some actual light lifting going on. But STRUGGLING———I’m throwing the BS flag on that overblown description of how hard the congresscrats are working.
As bad as Greece is, confiscation isn’t happening there. But federal bondholders got both wiped out and severely “haircutted” depending on the exact type of bond. They are writing the book on where we are going. Anyone acting to confiscate personal savings will have less than 30 days to finish his bucket list.
