Neither health care or insurance are enumerated powers for the central government to be involved in or control. Period. They are clearly reserved to the states and the people by the constitution. Doesn't matter how poor people are or how sick. The federal government has no constitutional power to intervene.
The democrats can rant and rave and present millions of sob stories about sick people, but that does not change the constitution. We're now going to have millions of sob stories from closed businesses, from people who lose their jobs, from people who have their hours and pay reduced and lose access to healthcare altogether. Obamacare will cause more damage to the free economy and cause more people to lose their healthcare than who gain. All while increasing the costs and reducing quality and eventually bankrupting the insurance companies. It's impossible for free enterprise to succeed in a socialist environment with government subsidies. You're going to have one or the other. Socialism or freedom.
Obamacare is spread-the-wealth-around Marxism (socialism). We're going to take from those who have and give to those who don't. And many of those you take it from will lose all. If self-employed, many will lose their business or can't grow their business. Many of the currently employed will lose pay, lose jobs, lose their homes, lose their families and lose their healthcare.
Most of those who receive healthcare under this socialist program will remain poor. They won't get a job. They won't build a business. They won't get an education. They will remain on the government dole. They and their children will remain dependent on the government plantation, many times generation after generation. Socialism promotes long-term poverty and dependence.
Socialist healthcare will destroy the healthcare industry. Sorry, democrats, but profit makes the world go 'round. Remove the profit motive by controlling payments for services, you cut the quality of service. Just a given. Dump a flood of millions of additional patients into a declining industry, you get scarcity, delay, reduced quality, rationing, and eventually death panels. It happens in every country that tries it. Just a fact of life.
The socialist Obamacare does not improve any problem. It makes it worse. Would be far better to abide by the constitution and keep the feds out. The constitution leaves healthcare to the states and the people. If there are any federal laws restricting free trade in healthcare, they should be stricken from the books. Let the states and insurance companies compete nationwide. Get a handle on the ambulance chasers and the lawsuit shakedown industry. Offer some sort of incentive for personal healthcare accounts. Work with states and local governments to build charity hospitals and walk-in clinics for the poor. The poor and or uninsurable should not be turned away, but we shouldn't shred our constitution or turn our entire society upside down to insure them either. Healthcare for the poor or sick who cannot possibly pay has always been funded by charity or local governments and that's the way it should be. If the feds would keep its nose out of affairs where it has no constitutional authority, there might be more room for state and local governments and charities to pick up the slack.
Furthermore, Obamacare destroys the constitutional limits on government. It sets the SCOTUS approved precedent that there are no limits whatsoever on what the government can force on the people, nor any individual right that cannot be violated, nor any states right that cannot be violated. The central government is all powerful. That's totally upside down and inside out.
And it also eliminates the separation of powers. It allows the president and the SCOTUS to rewrite legislation without congressional input or approval.
It in fact, nullifies our constitution and bill of rights and turns America into a benevolent dictatorship.
To the headline: Amen and Amen......... TOTALLY agree
Obamacare was never meant to help anyone. It was always meant to destroy from within just like everything this man has done.
Impeachment file on Harrison J. Bounel, aka B. Hussein Obama.
I for one am not participating in Obamacare or signing up with a "Navigator." No thanks. I urge everyone to pay out of pocket for routine health expenses and go overseas for treatment of illnesses. I'm already exploring Costa Rica to get dental implants and they're way cheaper than here.
Well written and absolutely correct.
as was it’s intent. Subjugate the people through healthcare, redistribute all monies and finish financially wrecking Amerika.
Well said.
Any legislator, Republican or Democrat, who plays pattycake with the fabianists is accomplice.
Don’t go overseas. Go to a dental college if you can. That’s what I’m doing. Paying 10% of what a local dentist charges.
A minimalist just wants to exist, they have no ambition.
Most welfare recipients are minimalist, they just want their basic necessities, housing, food, utilities, healthcare and public transportation.
Most union workers are minimalist. They know their place in society; they can plan their future by the number of years they have worked. There is no need to excel at their job.
A radical Islamist is closer to god if they do away with any modern conveniences and individuality. They are minimalist.
An environmentalist is a minimalist. They want to impose their radicalism on everyone.
A socialist is a minimalist. Welfare is fine with them, guaranteed jobs and unions are good and heavy regulations and taxes are good.
A communist is a minimalist.
Illiterate illegal aliens are minimalist. There is an opportunity for advancement in our country but most of them are happy to work for the same things our welfare recipients receive.
They call themselves Democrats or progressives but shouldnt they be known for retarding progress? Shouldnt we be calling them retards?
PS Jim; about your last line. What makes you think this dictatorship will be benevolent? Isn’t “benevolent dictatorship” an oxymoron?
Under Obamacare, a male in the same situation may find himself paying 5 to 6 thousand dollars per year to get that same coverage. I predict that a huge part of this population is going to "get it" pretty quickly after seeing his paycheck clipped in such a dramatic fashion for services that he just doesn't need. He will recognize that he is working and producing so that someone else can work less and produce less.
Obamacare will not be irreversible anymore than the distribution of Obamaphones is irreversible. It took the Soviet Union about 70 years to fail. It won't take us that long to reverse direction, though the reversal will be painful for many.
Obama is turning your healthcare system into something resembling Norway or England, And the main plank in those things is withholding service.
For example, I have some of the same problems with a leg as you have with yours. Last time the health system promised wound care, they had hired a pakistani, and that was the end of that. They do not even respond to contact - if you’re a political non grata, the system will try and kill you. Same for Mesta; both the Obamacare outgrowths and our system have tried to kill or maim her.
Sarah is right about the death panels, only they’ll be far wider and deeper than anyone think.
Ha! Basic necessities. That's a good one! No....MOST welfare recipients think you're not handing over enough. They want a flat screenTV, cable, a new GM auto, an 0Phone, gourmet groceries, etc.
I think our Socialized Medicine will make Europe’s Socialized Healthcare look like cadillac care.
Used this definition:
A benevolent dictatorship is a form of government in which an authoritarian leader exercises absolute political power over the state through elected representatives. A benevolent dictator may allow for some democratic decision-making to exist, such as through public referendums.
Characteristics:
Many dictators’ regimes portray themselves as benevolent, often tending to regard democratic regimes as messy, inefficient and corrupt, but few are widely viewed as such outside their country or supporters.
Obama sees himself as a benevolent dictator. Views the constitution as flawed. Sees working with congress messy and inefficient, perhaps necessary or useful when controlled by his party, but will workaround either (constitution or congress) to get his way.
I hope I may post this Jim. Never take the line of least resistance. You will always lose much more than you will gain.

Maybe if I need a cleaning or a filling, sure. But not for major dental work such as implants.
I used to go to a dental school for dental care when I was young and uninsured. Be careful, though - they sometimes do more than needed, such as drilling cavities that were already filled, just to satisfy some academic requirement. (Then again, sometimes you have to worry about what professional dentists will do to you, too.)
The headline says it all, not to take away from the rest.
Sure, just like that, pack up and go overseas.
Or go to a “sock hop” for dentists.
Do you guys have young kids?
EEE, block grants ought to go away, too. Block grants are merely another way by which the Federal government manages a wealth redistribution plan.
The money that comes back to states as block grants was originally extorted from the taxpaying citizens of those, and other, states.
Drop the block grants, reduce the cash flow into the federal government, and let the states manage their own poverty programs, welfare, etc.
I accept your definition and application. I think part of being a dictator is exterminating real political opposition. It’s what 0bama is doing to “fundamentally transform” America. There is nothing benevolent about that, in the ordinary usage of the word.
JR, Winey snively so what. You got a plan, or just bloviating.
Rab loves JR.
Raben
Amen Brother!
I still think we should target the worst
insurance company by sending them sick people.
Thank you very much.
My plan is simple. Abide by the constitution. Leave healthcare and insurance to the states and the people. Free enterprise is far superior to socialism.
Socialism = epic fail.
Freedom = we win, they lose.
Well yeah but... The Supreme Court decided it was okay.
Of course I realize that the Court was wrong but that takes a revolution to decide differently...
Amen. And that’s the way our constitution sets it up.
Appears the court is controlled by the dictator and his party.
And it also eliminates the separation of powers. It allows the president and the SCOTUS to rewrite legislation without congressional input or approval.
It in fact, nullifies our constitution and bill of rights and turns America into a benevolent dictatorship.
Thanks a lot John Roberts.
If, in the course of your day, you encounter a liberal, be sure to remind them, “You own ObamaCare”.
Soon enough, they’re going to hate it more than we do. Because it’s theirs.
True. But Obama is using the power of his one party system to maintain his own dictatorial power, ie, the democrats plus the GOP-e RINOS = one party control. The only ones who believe Obama is benevolent are the recipients of his “gifts” and or those cronies in his corrupt party or (corrupt) big business who share in the looting of America. Obviously not all big business is corrupt but there are some (Soros, et al).
Why not? Everything is overseen by licensed dentists. Who are you going to sue when your foreign dentist butchers your mouth?
What’s a sock hop have to do with it?
Unfortunately, with the passage of the 17th Amendment, the concept of states rights and the 10th Amendment got lost in the shuffle. Prior to passage of the 17th Amendment, Senators to the US Congress were appointed by their respective state legislature. This made them beholden to the state they represented and more willing to fight to preserve states rights.
Passage of the 17th Amendment effectively eradicated their allegiance to their home state and made future Senators, like House representatives, beholden to the power brokers, money men and political groups. IOW, it effectively ended the concept of America as a representative republic and truly made us a "democracy" subject to mob rule.
IMO, the repeal of the 17th Amendment would do wonders to restore the status of states rights and the power of the 10th Amendment by forcing the Senate to, once again, focus on two primary priorities - the business of America and the right of the individual states to control more of what government does within individual state lines than being forced to certain programs by a strong central government. The Founding Fathers gave up a lot to create a balanced system of government in which the individual states were not required to cave to the will of the central (federal) government.
Today, we discuss ad nauseum the abuses of the Obama government, yet none of us are willing to take the necessary next step to put America back in balance with its Constitution. We KNOW what needs to happen, but we are too cowed by a gargantuan central government that has grown far beyond the limits envisioned by the Founding Fathers to the extent that it is now a bully to its own citizens.
And, the next election will only change some of the names and faces associated with the abuse - it will do NOTHING to correct the course of our ship of state.
Agreed. I’ve long held that the 16th and 17th should be repealed to restore our constitutional republic.
That said, we still have to work like the dickens against unconstitutional abuses like obamacare.
So true.
(which of course was always the point)
I’m sure the entire piece is spot on, but the header pretty much sums it up.....(now I’ll go read all of it)

GOOD LORD! How did this nation EVER SURVIVE the following ‘government shut downs’?
Government shut down EVERY YEAR during the Carter administration.
1976 - two times for 10 days
1977 - three times for 12 days, 8 days and 10 days
1978 for 17 days
1979 for 11 days
1981 for 2 days
1982 two times for 1 day and 3 days
1983 for 3 days
1985 twice for 2 days and 1 day
1986 once for 1 day
1995 twice for 5 days and 21 days
1995 took 2 seats in the Senate and lost 2 seats in the House and we got Welfare reform.
Let’s recap:
6 times in 8 years of the Reagan administration
3 times during the Bush administration
2 times during the Clinton administration
My GOD, how WILL we SURVIVE if it happens ONCE during the Obama administration?

Socialism removes incentive to perform beyond the scope of regulation and mediocrity. It kills hope and never changes.
benevolent, my ass.
On spot!
Yup. Have ordered the book. The articles I’ve read sound pretty positive and listening to Mark I like it and will join his effort.
If an attractive and professional looking chart were made listing all of the harmful effects that Obamacare is going to create and the actual costs involved in an easy to understand and factual bullet point format i think it would have good effect if posted online on strategically chosen websites. I think It would be even more effective if written in an objective manner without emotion attached. Both parties understand $$$ being extracted from their pants pockets.
