Hunter College student survives after being pushed onto the tracks at Metro-North station by homeless panhandler
The 21-year-old student's leg was mangled and lost fingers after the panhandler shoved her onto the tracks at the White Plains station around 11 a.m.
A Hunter College student on her way to class Wednesday was shoved in front of an oncoming Metro-North Train by a homeless man, authorities said.
The 21-year-old student was waiting on the north end of the platform at the White Plains station on the Harlem line around 11 a.m. when Howard Mickens, 39, came up behind her and pushed her, officials said.
The girls leg was mangled and witnesses said she even lost some fingers.
The co-ed was rushed to Westchester Medical Center where she is expected to survive. A witness said cops told him that Mickens was so outraged when he begged the college student for money but was turned down, he shoved her into the trains path. I see him every day. This is the first time hes ever done a heinous act like this, said Gary Wexler, who runs a newsstand at the station.
Mickens was arrested on the spot by MTA police. Charges were pending Wednesday evening.
Didn’t some prominent lefty try to say that the homeless were just like Jesus?
She dint come ober wit the moe betta gibsmedat.
I would bet my paycheck, that the panhandler was Amish. Unfortunately, the chump will have it better in prison, than on the streets.
LOL, Amish too? I thought you had someone over to do some work for you? Yes, I am still playing with my new toy.
The man should be tried and executed for attempted murder.
I have seen plenty of insane white people in New York City. Have you ever been there?
The pic above is him.
Riders should have beaten him to death on the spot.
Yes I have been there. I have also been to the other bellies of the beast, LA and SF. In fact, I was there yesterday, and I will be there again tomorrow, unfortunately.
Not for nothin’, I wonder how Ms. Hunter College voted last time she was able...
So many of these bums think they are entitled to your money. I have zero tolerance for bums.
Absolutely awful what happened to this young woman. Punished because some bum wanted to get drunk
Not for a long time. In fact, I don’t ever want to see West Point again.
More and more black-on-white beatings and murders. More and more aggression from the “homeless” in the subways.
WHO is community-organizing this growing violence?
In the good old days he would have been strung up immediately. And it would have had nothing to do with race.
I've read similar things said about pit bulls after they attack.
“Mickens was arrested on the spot by MTA police. “
In a sane world, that would say “killed on the spot”.
Years ago co-worker of mine was walking through Grand Central in NYC when accosted by pan handler
Got punched in face when walked aaway without giving him money .......
If you don’t like the U.S. justice system, why don’t you go to a country with a justice system you like? Maybe Saudi Arabia?
“Years ago co-worker of mine was walking through Grand Central in NYC when accosted by pan handler. Got punched in face when walked aaway without giving him money ...”
That is why I haven’t been in NYC since around 2003 (and that was for work); I live 10 miles west of the city. What a toilet...
“The girls leg was mangled and witnesses said she even lost some fingers.”
Now others may learn; unlike a news story that can be buried, this story will be re-told for decades.
She had fingers on her leg? Strange.
I refuse to use the Lefty Liberal term, “homeless”.
They are “Bums” and “Tramps”.
I have. Lived just up the river and would often take the Hudson Line of the Metro-North down for day trips.
Subway or MTA, mattered not, I would not stand where I could be pushed or shoved onto the tracks. Always left enough room that I could drop to the platform.
Many “Homeless” are violent, loud scary people. I live and work in downtown Los Angeles and walk about 3 blocks to everyday to office..I cant tell you how many times I have been followed, yelled at, last week a crazy old woman started thumping my head with a newspaper...buy street in the middle of the day! I politely told her that if she touched me again I would tear off her arm and feed it to her. She stopped.
