I already only buy Barilla, as our family thinks its the best brand.”
Only brand I have purchased for several months now. Started buying them because they were the least expensive at the time. My Obama Stash Closet is full of them. Obama would be so proud /s/.

That is now our official pasta.

I buy Barilla often, mainly because it’s about the only brand that I’ve found that has orzo as part of the their line (at least where I shop).

I heard this company advertised on the radio, a catholic investment firm that only invests in companies who aren’t affiliated with things catholics would find immoral. I just wonder if there is any list available on what specific companies they invest in and have ruled out. It’d be a good way to develop a no-buy list.

We have always preferred Barilla. My wife likes to get their “Plus” pasta with some added protein and Omega 3, whatever that is.
To: lowbridge
Well. it’s Barilla for me from now on.

Well, that didn’t last long. Another thread says he’s already started apologizing.
Good grief!

Update from Barilla US Facebook:
“At Barilla, we consider it our mission to treat our consumers and partners as our neighbors with love and respect and to deliver the very best products possible. We take this responsibility seriously and consider it a core part of who we are as a family-owned company. While we cant undo recent remarks, we can apologize. To all of our friends, family, employees, and partners that we have hurt or offended, we are deeply sorry.”

From now on I will buy Barilla. Actually I think he should make an advertisement featuring gays. It should be done showing a "loving" couple eating pasta by candle light with wine. The caption should be, "this ain't Barilla pasta."
He would lose a few customers but gain many more.

Hey Low, I write about 100 Italian recipes a week, and have never suggested a brand name as a indication of my preference.. That life long prohibition will now be broken..
I have always chosen Barilla pasta as my selection when I buy dry pasta, primarily because it is the best of the brand names, but now I will buy it with added enthusiasm , and promote it at every opportunity including my cookbooks..
Today is turning out to be a great day for this Italian Chef.. :)

well I know what brand of pasta I’ll be buying from now on. Time to let the degenerates know they’ve gone too far. Bravo, Barilla!
