Skip to comments. After Mocking 'Bizarre' Ted Cruz, ABC Finds a Man Who Will Lose Coverage Because of ObamaCare

ABC on Wednesday morning dismissed Ted Cruz as "bizarre." But that night on the network's World News, reporter Jeff Zeleny featured a man who will lose his health coverage because of ObamaCare. In a noticeable break from Good Morning America's coverage, Zeleny also allowed, "The bottom line for millions: many young and healthy will likely pay more while older and sick Americans get a break and costs vary widely."
On GMA, Zeleny skipped the substance of Cruz's complaints against the health care law. On World News, the journalist conceded, "[Cruz] told story after story how families are bracing for ObamaCare." Zeleny highlighted, "In Pittsburgh, Dan Howard received a letter saying his policy will be cancelled because of the new law. Married with six children, he's struggling to find coverage."
The reporter balanced this out with a pro-ObamaCare example: "But in Miami, Maggie Fernandez told us she's been cutting her high blood pressure pills in half, waiting to buy insurance since losing her job earlier this year."
However, Zeleny's Wednesday night story at least acknowledged the complaints against ObamaCare and the substance of Cruz's arguments. That is an improvement over Good Morning America.

DIANE SAWYER: And now back here at home, the ongoing drama surrounding the major change in America's health care system coming. ObamaCare taking effect on October 1st, but in a last-ditch stand against it, one senator has performed his own endurance test. ABC senior Washington correspondent Jeff Zeleny.
TED CRUZ: I told the American people that I intended to stand until I can stand no more.
JEFF ZELENY: So Ted Cruz stood fast for 21 hours, 19 minutes, a symbolic fight against a health care law. After reading a bedtime story via C-SPAN to his two daughters in Texas...
CRUZ: Do you like green eggs and ham?

Your poem is too cool!
I’ll post the link on his Face Book page!
It was the most innovative and effective health ins. I've ever had, and it worked perfectly for our family. It was called an HRA, which is a high deductible plan with an HSA. The cool thing, though was you got an up front stipend that covers the first half of the deductible, and I funded my HSA to account for the rest of the deductible. Any of the stipend that is left over at the end of the year is supposed to roll forward to the next year. I still have over $800 of my stipend left, but the plan is now "illegal" under Ohorrorcare.
It might be a moot point anyway, because my job's on the line and will likely end in December anyway.
Great idea! Thanks.
Ha, ha. Serves ABC right.
Perfect poem. Pass it on to everyone you know.
David Letterman just now, “ya’ll know crazy republican Senator Ted Cruz, doncha?”
The MediaMatters/Kos/OFA Coordinated Media Demonization of Cruz has begun.....
This article kinda reminds me of Dicky Turbin getting squashed like a bug when Sen Cruz told him he’s not enrolled in the gov’t 1st class health plan. Backfire!
Live in Hopey Changey, die in despair.
Ted Cruz Ping!
If you want on/off this ping list, please let me know.
Please beware, this is a high-volume ping list!
I am sure they assured the guy they found who is losing coverage that he doesn’t exist.
Add me to the “lose coverage” list ,, I just can’t afford it anymore ... 31 years with no break in coverage.. I’ll pay the fine ,, go to the hospital if needed ,, sign up for O-Care in the E.R. waiting room from my laptop ... and watch the insurers go BK within a year...
Senator Ted Cruz stayed awake for at least 21 hours to debate Obamacare. Mr. Obama couldn’t even stay awake to find out what happened in Benghazi.
Where I work we were notified they would no longer offer Health Insurance to part-time workers and directed to sign onto Obamas Government plan.
Full-timers had their coverage lowered with higher co-pays and less coverage.
Further.... full-time ‘salaried workers’ were recently changed to ‘hourly’.
Here they changed the policy on part-time employees so they can’t work more than 30 hours a year ago. I had to write a program to report on the hours part-time employees punch into the clock weekly that identifies if they enter more than 30 hours so they can be corrected immediately.
Oh yes...they did that here too....It use to be 35 hours...then lowered to 32....now it’s 30...but most are ‘scheduled’ for 28 or lower so that no one goes beyond the 30.
Interesting too that it took just ‘72 hours’ for Obama to send a CIA team to investigate the Mall Raid in Kenya....but three weeks before any were sent to Benghazi!!!
Does ABC mock all the folks who stood against communism for the last 100 years?
It irks me to no end and saddens me that we have had so many die for a country that capitulated so easily to Obama. The crazy folks who pushed the Patriot Act on us are disgraceful. The media persons who are all in for the government to ruIn the lives of millions are a disgrace.
I am thankful for Senator Cruz staying true to American principals. It is a shame that a veteran such as McCain gave in so easily.
It’s tailored Dem propaganda messaging. One message for the soccer moms watching GMA and a different message for the blue hairs watching the nightly news.
