WASHINGTON (AP) — Staring at the specter of a partial government shutdown, Sen. John McCain says he’s never seen anything like the harsh partisanship pervading much of Washington politics.
The Arizona Republican, serving his fifth term, says “we are dividing the Republican Party rather than attacking Democrats.”

That is not the point of republican government. We send people to battle out the ideas and then to take a vote. And who has the most votes prevails. And if the people don't like the result of the vote, or the resulting law, then can replace those who vote to alter or repeal what has been done.
McCain and his colleagues have done everything possible over the decades to avoid voting for things, with unanimous consents and arranging things so that the outcome is known ahead of time, instead of just battling things out, taking a vote, and facing the consequences.
Well, they'll have to take a vote today. In the open. In front of the people. And face the consequences.
McCain is French, right?
McCain is a tiring old man riding his high horse into the sunset.
I call that progress.
McAinal McQueeg is totally irrelevant with conservative republicans. He is only important to the gay rats, who control our media. These dregs of humanity, spend their semi sober hours in Gay hot tubs, writing bs about their hero while trying to make Ted Cruz look bad. In spite of their trash posing as journalism, we now have the totally irrelevant McAinal McQueeg and a stronger Ted Cruz.
What he meant was "conservatism is worst he's seen".
When clearly defined, issues can be resolved.
Then an ass like John McCain comes in to cause some to wonder if the Conservative efforts are sane or not. His actions concerning Cruz and the Tea Part are excellent examples.
There is massive partisanship and confusion, in no small measure because of John McCain. If he and a sellect few others had fallen in behind Cruz, these issues would be black and white.
Instead we are left with subtle shades of gray for far more members of our populace than there would normally be.
So John, if you are truly tired of the partisanship, go back to Arizona and let saner men lead.
You have been a total disaster. From your childhood to your adulthood, to your senile years, you have been one big massive F-up. And frankly, its getting worse by the day.
Actually, he does not seem to be able to get on the horse or in the wagon. no strength.
It’s not the Tea Party’s fault, no matter what your hearing from your sycophantic staffers.
Every day, I come closer to the realization that the crazy old fart would have been an even worse president than Obama.
It is so sad when dementia takes hold and one forgets what was once important to them and loses a grip in reality. So sad indeed!
You and Linda are dividing the Republican Party, alright.
I think you may be correct
John, just change parties. It worked out great for your pal Arlen.
When was the last time McCain attacked a Democrat? Seriously, does anyone know?
Has he ever attacked a Democrat?
McQueeg would do the country a favor by retiring immediately or at least become somewhat honest by changing parties and becoming a RAT, that’s where he belongs.
“Every day, I come closer to the realization that the crazy old fart would have been an even worse president than Obama.”
That’s true, but we wouldn’t have a college pal of Obama on the Supreme Court to tell him what the votes were so he could enact his thuggery and blackmail campaign.
mccain just enjoys butt sex.
If McCain were talking about the actions of the Dems, then I would agree.
For shame, Sen. McCain, for not backing and encouraging Sen. Ted Cruz!
I hate to say this, as I have followed your career and have been proud of you. But I say now ... your should have retired from the Senate back in the ‘90’s
Well Brainiac...tell your Dhimmicrat buddies to stop being Marxists!
MAKE DC LISTEN: TELL YOUR SENATORS TO OPPOSE CLOTURE ON H.J. RES 59
We must oppose cloture on H. J. Res. 59, so that Harry Reid and Senate Democrats cannot sneak in funding for Obamacare. We need you to call your Senators right now: tell them to oppose cloture on H.J. Res 59 and remind them that a vote for cloture IS a for funding Obamacare.

ALL DEMOCRATS up for re-election:
(except maybe Manchin)
Before and After Reid.
Sure it is because McCain is a Statist and fears a resurgence of liberty-minded people.
Why have two parties if we’re going to go along with the opposition on BIG issue legislation?
“Well, they’ll have to take a vote today. In the open. In front of the people. And face the consequences.”
Excellent point and they won’t have the process or nightfall to hide it.
Question for McQuide: when was the last time the dems came across the aisle and agreed with a GOP point or bill? You have 24 hours to come up with an answer or take all the time you want because the answer is not going to change. You guys could not even get the dems to agree with you that a felon should be removed from office.
Excellent! I just printed this and posted it on the side of my computer. Good for a chuckle!
What's this "we" crap kemosabe?
McLame (D) We’re not going along with the dems like I use to.
Bipartisanship ain’t what it used to be, either.
Compromise from only one side is no compromise at all. It is pre-emptive surrender.
Go to hell Juan McCain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
“Question for McQuide: when was the last time the dems came across the aisle and agreed with a GOP point or bill?”
Not only that, name a time when the 2004 Presidenial nominee, who also returned to the senate after he lost, took to the floor on the side of the republicans to excoriate the “extreme” and “partisan” actions of the democrats??
Simple answer. Never!
McCain's definition of the word is moving left along with the Dems.
Worst partisanship McCain has ever seen all because Sen. Cruz didn’t pull any punches?
He didn’t even name any names, but every last one of them outed themselves by their own words and actions - as usual, standing in agreement with and using leftest talking points (that’s bipartisan, of course) - basically behaving like things possessed.
The bickering and partisanship is theirs. But even though they’ve made fools of themselves, they can’t seem to shut up about it - as proven here. And the media is their wind pushing them right along, of course.
Yes, this is terrible! Why can’t those Democrats be more bi~partisan?
The two political parties are supposed to argue and fight. Will Durant said that liberty and equality are mortal enemies.
I felt terrible voting for him, mainly because I was hoping he would die during his first week in office.
Add Roy Blunt (Missouri) to the list of Republican traitors. He’ll be up for re-election eventually!
A sign that there is hope.
"Nature smiles at the union of freedom and equality in our utopias. For freedom and equality are sworn and everlasting enemies, and when one prevails the other dies. Leave men free, and their natural inequalities will multiply almost geometrically, as in England and America in the nineteenth century under laissez-faire. To check the growth of inequality, liberty must be sacrificed, as in Russia after 1917. Even when repressed, inequality grows; only the man who is below the average in economic ability desires equality; those who are conscious of superior ability desire freedom, and in the end superior ability has its way."-- Will Durant
we are dividing the Republican Party rather than attacking Democrats........
Words directly from the guy who blatenty attacked Cruz following the 21 hours speech.
“John Boy”, tell me once again who the RINO’s are fighting
McShamey jumped the shark oh so long ago.
The man deserves nothing save opprobrium.
We don't need that or him. Send him home with a lifetime supply of Depends instead of lifetime health insurance and a pension and be rid of him.
Errr, no McCain, you moron. YOU are dividing the party by lying and attacking your own party.
McCain should just join the Democrat Party and shut his cake-hole.
