New House GOP bill delays health law by 1 year

House Republicans on Saturday pushed the government to the edge of a partial shutdown next week, insisting that President Barack Obama’s health care law be delayed a year in defiance of White House and the Democratic-controlled Senate.

They rejected a Senate bill passed Friday that would keep the government operating another 45 days and make no changes to the health law. Instead, House Republicans prepared to pass their own version Saturday and throw the issue back to the Senate, which is not scheduled to return until Monday afternoon, 10 hours before the shutdown deadline.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has insisted the Senate would not pass a bill that alters the law. The White House has said Obama would veto such a bill. …

Obama cannot agree to this without some massive loss of face; it will effectively be an admission of the horrific disaster that his hallmark legislation turned out to be.

He will let this nation crash and burn before he admits to failure.

Big O and the Old Man Reid painted themselve in the corner! Instead of negotiating, they would not listen to reason at all!

FUBO and FUHR and FUDEMS.

Lesse, did I run out of FU?

It would be a plan if the proponents were such that promises they have ever made or make would be kept, but history has shown us this is not the case.

To delay the instantiation of Obamacare for the common man and woman not associated with an Obama Privileged Exempt Group could be beneficial IF our RINO proponents actually intended to do something like get rid of, or try to defund (again) this socialist law. However, they have no such intention. In fact, their delay actually helps Obama and the Democrats because it removes the personal tragedies and financial heartache from the 2014 Congressional Election mix completely. In other words, at the 2014 elections, it would be a law-not-yet-implemented and the subject of many many lies that could not be refuted.

Our Republican leadership is power-corrupt, and they will say or do anything to maintain that power. Do not listen to them, do not believe them, do not trust them. They only want their power and they will sell your children down that river to keep it.

I would love to see one of the two scenarios.

Reid does what he did this last time...with the Rinos he strips out the health funding, and sends it back to the HOuse.

Boehner faced with a govt shutdown passes a bill to fund the govt for six months. He says we will not have the American people held hostage.

And let the damn Obamacare kick in. The people very quickly will see what the results are, and feel the pain.

or REid passes the House bill as is and sends it to the president who vetos the bill.

Then back to the House where Boehner agrees to fund the govt.

I see know benefit in letting low information voters off the hook here. They need to feel the effects of this terrible health care law.

It is my belief the Obamacare Law is illegal to begin with.

It required the bribing of several senators to get it to pass. That act of voting fraud is definately illegal!

That among several other things!

What I would like to see is the house passing the 1 year delay, add in funding for Keystone and send it back to the senate. Then I would like to see the senate democrats go along and pass it to Obama.

If everyone had a set of cajones, they would let Obama have it.

Once Obamacare kicks in you never get rid of it. That's because the first to sign up will be those who are subsidized, and there will be no way to pay for their insurance without dragging everyone else in to it. Besides that, so many employee plans and private plans will disappear in six months that there will be no alternative to following through.

It's the RINO way to put things off now and worry about the future in the future. If you can't control the present when the means are there, how are you going to control the future?

Reid can then hold a vote on cloture,
add an amendment deleting the obamacare delay,
gets 51 votes to pass the amending bill,
and send it back to the House.

Just like the senate did with the first continuing resolution.
Reid’s senate mafia can do this over and over again.

It is ugly, but it is true.

Here’s an idea, instead of delaying this monstrosity, just destroy it, throw it into a fire and burn it..of course it wont happen since libs have been wanting for centuries to be able to control who lives and who dies

Pull the bammycare back out.

March the entire House out on the steps and fire up the cameras.

Pass out full text (three sentences) copies of the fifteen second speech.

"Here is the bill to the Senate, we funded everything except the Un-Affordable No-Care Act"

"They will never see any money for that."

"Thank you."

What are those of us who already got kicked off our plans supposed to do for the next year? I will guarantee no one is going to be taken back on their old plans. This is not just a philosophical issue; many of us need frequent ongoing treatment.

This would be a serious mistake in many ways including letting Obama off the hook for the 2014 elections.

The LIV feels nothing. This law harms people who are currently sick. Infanticide and now death camps. We all know where this is heading. Stop the fascists now.

The house should hack out 50 billion dollars and pass the CR.
Punish the senate for their actions.
That’s how I negotiate. When I give someone a good deal and they turn around and make a low ball offer I go in the opposite direction.

Besides that, so many employee plans and private plans will disappear in six months

They already have. Numerous private and state plans already kaput -- no funding and no budget after the first of the year. It would not even be legal to re-enact those plans. No going back now and no alternative (as you say) put forth by the Republicans.

The defunding should have occurred three years ago and on an ongoing basis since then.
