Dallas County Now Has Its Very Own Bulletproof, "Mine-Protected" Military SUV [sic]

Dallas County sheriff's deputies traveled to Fort Hood earlier this month and picked up their very own International MaxxPro MRAP. This particular truck has never seen any actual combat, having only been deployed stateside for training exercises, so it doesn't have any cool battle scars, but with the dealer's $600,000 price tag knocked down to nothing, and with just 10,000 miles on it, the deal was too good to pass up.

"Having a tactical vehicle will not only provide warrants execution with the equipment to assist in performing their jobs but will provide an overall safety arch," Chief Deputy Marlin Suell wrote to commissioners.

You know, I would say someone should clue those guys in that hanging off the side of an armored transport defeats the purpose... but then again, I’d rather these clowns keep using really poor tactics.

If the time ever comes when we need those, the 2nd amendment will just be a memory.

Wish I had one of these in the driveway, at least we'd be equal:

The fat thug cops get excited to the point of orgasm when they learn they get to serve a no knock warrant. I’m so grateful I was born at a time when I could enjoy this country. And I’m glad I won’t be around too much longer to see the total destruction. I’ve seen more than I ever wanted to see already.

“Got no use for grammar Nazi’s”

I pretty much never bother to correct the egregious errors all over this forum when it comes to spelling and grammar. I make plenty of mistakes myself. But the ability to communicate is becoming an extinct art these days, and conservatives would do well to strive for perfection when it comes to learning these skills.

The pen is mightier than the sword, but it takes more skill to use a pen as proficiently.

If someone corrects your spelling or grammar, let me suggest to either thank them or politely ignore them.

The Bible says the fool hates the one who reproves him, but the wise love reproof. We all need it, but few accept it when given.

There’s a county in Georgia that went out a decade ago and bought a wheeled armored vehicle for ‘tactical support’. They had to send one of their mechanics off to a two-week school to know all the particulars of special repair for it. What they came to learn in the first six months as they used it....was that it came to break down on a fairly regular basis after the first year of operation.

After the warranty period ended, this repair business became expensive. Parts could be ordered, but it’d still take three-to-seven days for arrival....meaning the tactical vehicle sat there and usually couldn’t be of use.

The gas mileage? Well, it’s safe to say that it never got above three miles a gallon. So one trip to the end of the county and back....usually flushed out all of the fuel in the truck. You could imagine the budget guy sitting there and adding up diesel costs at the half-way point of the budget-year and falling off his chair.

So the vehicle got to be used less and less. Two years ago when the news media put out the story....they were using the vehicle strictly for parades and extreme episodes (figure four to six a year max). No spare parts were being kept and there’s probably six weeks out of the year that it was down for repairs anyway.

They couldn’t bring themselves to retire or dump the vehicle. They were hopeful that they could use the decline of this vehicle for another grant from Homeland Security down the line....that was my humble opinion in the end on this episode.

These are all expensive toys that the public have watched wannabe police organizations acquire and simply pump up tax revenue and budgets. It makes no sense and we would not have accepted this attitude a hundred years ago.

Dallas County is a libtard run cesspool complete with Detroit style decay and Chicago style crime, they need an entire fleet of up armored trucks just for simple law enforcement.

All you do is napalm the vehicle and pick off the passengers as they try to get out !

Every can has it's opener. /johnny

Yup - and don't even have to open it up to disable it. I wonder what a few gallons of thick paint would do for visibility.

The tax payers paid for it, now it is handed out to whomever. Shouldnt it be given back to taxpayers to choose whom to sell to an how, and then use proceeds as a tax break like a mutual insurance?

I don’t offer a “thank you” to people who are being arrogant. especially over something as petty “to too”, very nit picky

You will never prove to me that any local police force needs this kind of armor and armed upped police officers. SWAT is SWAT, but this is a Army Ranger, US Marines attacked platoon. THIS boys and girls is the military wing that will take over this country when the Antichrist comes. This is why these types are being built. The Bible clearly says when he rules, he rules by the way of a strong military force. The military will be his foreign forces, and this type of force will be his internal force. THIS nation is the only nation on earth where the free citizens are armed and could fight back. THIS is why they are building this force here.

I do find it odd that more than one is needed. I could understand it if some city in South Texas did that, but in Dallas??
