Skip to comments.AZ Voters Taking Action: McCain-Flake Recall
Posted on 09/29/2013 3:52:23 PM PDT by blueyon
Arizona voters are angry. They are not alone in their anger, for it seems betrayal on the vote to defund ObamaCare is not isolated to Arizona. However, Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit and John Hawkins at Right Wing News are on board with the recall, and I certainly feel their pain! I live in Alaska, not Arizona, but I certainly know what it is like to feel betrayal from a Senator! The difference is that I know mine are not Republican; yet McCain and Flake seem to think they are!

About damn time too..please Arizona, throw McCain out, the sooner the better
Can’t be done. It’s not in the Constitution. Unfortunately.
Citizens are taking back America one recall at a time.
I would love to. I can’t find a petition to sign on that link.
U.S. Senators cannot be recalled. Under the U.S. Constitution, they serve a six-year term, and only the Senate itself can expel them before that term ends.
I hope it works but I’m not sure you can do that.
I love it
Yeah I don’t know why people have such a hard time with that concept. Its just one more nasty little surprise they inserted into the 17th amendment.
They can’t throw the bum out, but maybe they can make his life miserable. Maybe at every public event, when he opens his pie hole and starts out with “My friends...” they can all shout back “LIAR!” until he finally becomes so pissed off he spends the rest of his Senate term holed up in some lamestream news green room.
PLEEEEEEEEEase DO IT! And then Texas will axe Cornyn. Why wait? We have the money in the budget for a special election. This is as good a reason as any.
Can you imagine if we actually recalled even one of these douchebags? The establishment would go nuts. Lets do it!
“Cant be done. Its not in the Constitution. Unfortunately.”
There is some debate over that. AZ candidates sign a pledge as to whether they will stand for recall election notwithstanding.
Unfortunately by law there is little that can be done at the moment to censure McCain. However while it may seem cruel, it would be rewarding to dump his poodle Graham in the SC Republican primary. A concerted effort would be good for the country.
From the recall petition site:
“NOTE: Ive received notice that the state of Arizona wants the petition previously displayed here to be filed and reviewed with them before being circulated, and is asking me to register as a political committee, and to file campaign finance reports
despite receiving no contributions, nor being a committee.
Removing my petition and putting this on hold till I verify the states ‘requests’.”
I like it.
Doesn’t matter-—The effect of gathering tens of thousands of signatures will impact both of them greatly, it will open the door for primary opponents and damage them politically.
I called for it yesterday. I didn’t realize the citizens couldn’t remove their own Senator. This probably dates back to when the Senators of each state were appointed, not placed into office by popular vote.
There is no way to do this at this point in time.
I believe this is one of the issues discussed in Mark Levin’s Liberty Amendments.
I would add, if a citizen can vote to approve, he should also be able to vote in a recall. I’m not arguing what it law or not, just what is reasoned.
Is there a provision for the recall of a U.S. Senator in Arizona law??
I would be surprised if that were the case. But pleased if at least McInsane got recalled.
Flake, as a noon, I am willing to forgive if he gets his mind right. McKook has been there long enough.
Actually it won't. For either of them to be impacted, they have to care what "we, the people" think - and they don't!!
The way politicians like McVain see it, if we were so smart, we would have their job and they wouldn't have us by the short hairs.
They reelected him as Senator knowing that he spent a decade attacking the Repubican party and conservatives as the Democrat’s best friend. So why are Arizona voters surprised that McCain is doing it again?
exactly....what's he doing that is unusual or unexpected?
If Arizona conservatives seriously want to muzzle McRino, they should find a credible challenger who can start making noises about running against him in the next primary.
No, the six-year term was in the original Constitution. Even when state legislatures elected U.S. Senators, they couldn't recall them.
I’ll send the Republican Party of Arizona a check for $100 for any charity they say if they will support and get this slime bag recalled!!!!!!!
I agree..make their lives miserable! Sign the petition anyway..get bumper stickers, get a hold of the state GOP, write letters, make calls, sacrifice a few virgins...well that may be over the top.
What do you call Murkowski?
Do it and when they come back and sayin isn’t in th Constitution, use Obamas getting around it as precedent.
I would much prefer they resign or be primaried out.

Cant be done. You're just not looking at the right document. The Constitutions derives its legitimacy from the Declaration of Independence. Read it and ask yourself whether obama is doing as much harm, if not worse, than anything King George did to justify armed rebellion against the most powerful empire of the time.
Under the Constitution we have rights. Under the Declaration we have a duty.
Can he be arrested for violating his oath of office?
They at least need to kick the offspring right in the nuts before any ideas are hatched there.
Correct. But they didn't have to send them back.
Today, if we repealed the 17th and returned appointment of Senators to state legislatures, it would become a new in-state campaign issue over which candidates would support which people for Senator.
It would make politics local again, in the truest sense.
He should be arrested for Treason
Arming Al Qaeda is treason.
Oh great. Another one.
Remember, the main reason that patriots want to give the boot to people like Sen. McCain is because of the 10th Amendment-protected state powers which lawmakers like McCain are wrongly usurping.
McQueeg laughs at Oaths. Hahahahaha! You RUBES.
When you go to his FB site he deletes most soon after they are posted so all you get are statements from him!!!
Assuming the request is verified, Wow, just wow.
Maybe he can be certified instead.
The framers purposely left state recall provisions out of the constitution. It was permitted under the Articles of Confederation and caused problems.
While senators cannot be recalled, taking signatures to register disgust is a good thing.
“I would add, if a citizen can vote to approve, he should also be able to vote in a recall. Im not arguing what it law or not, just what is reasoned.”
I agree. I wonder if an argument could be made that with giving citizens the right to directly choose their senators the right to recall is implied. I’m pretty certain it isn’t but the “lefties” would certainly try! At ant rate it would be fun to run him through the wringer. Same applies to Blunt. Missourians want him gone, too!
With the AZ open primaries I think a lot of (D) voters helped get him elected...^:(
Go check out the pig farms in Snowflake....
Hold your nose.
You have to understand that constitutionally speaking, Senator is a state office.
Why would they not be able to recall him?
