Posted on 09/30/2013 4:23:26 AM PDT by Kaslin
Among the pearls of wisdom conveyed in Ecclesiastes is that everything has its time.
"A time to be born ... a time to die, a time to plant ... a time to uproot, a time for war ... a time for peace."
The founders of the United States drew up a Constitution to serve as an operating manual, in its checks and balances, for peaceful, deliberative government. They understood human nature and set up a system in which competing interests would have to give in. Compromise, they understood, is a necessary lubricant for the wheels of government "of the people, by the people, and for the people" to turn and allow us to move forward.
But compromise is meant for those competing interests -- not for the core principles of the country that the Constitution exists to protect and secure. When the principles of our free nation under God are under siege, it is a time for confrontation, not compromise.
The other day, I watched a short video of Rafael Cruz's presentation at a July event by FreedomWorks, a Washington, D.C.-based political action committee that usually supports tea party causes. Cruz is the father of the junior Republican senator from Texas, Ted Cruz, who is now in the spotlight.
Rafael Cruz is a self-made businessman, an immigrant from Casto's Cuba, and a born-again evangelical Christian pastor.
Most of the time when someone cites the Declaration of Independence, they mention its famous opening sentences. But Rafael Cruz, in this brilliant summation of what America is about, quoted the signers' closing words: "... with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor."
Take a walk around Washington any evening. The fancy restaurants are filled with lobbyists and legislators.
Try to find anyone who would pledge his or her life and fortune for anything.
The American government is no longer about doing the business of the people while preserving and protecting the principles of a free nation. The principles of freedom have been drowned out by the power elite -- whether politicians, big business lobbyists or big media -- who use their influence to feather their own beds.
A Jeremiah-like Ted Cruz, ringing the alarm that things are not OK, is an annoyance to the comfortable establishment. As the class of "haves" protects its interests, it assures a dismal future for our young and for our poor. Its members play while the ship sinks.
There is no more powerful predictor of economic growth and prosperity than a nation's economic freedom.
The just-published "2013 Economic Freedom of the World Report" shows that the United States has dropped from being the world's second-most economically free in 2000 to number 17 in this year's report. The report comes from the Fraser Institute, a Canadian public-policy think tank.
Our economic arteries are clogged because of excessive government, which is dragging us down and ruining everything that made America great.
The Affordable Care Act is just the latest huge incursion into the freedom of American citizens in a long process of deterioration.
Every year, the trustees of Social Security and Medicare provide a report showing the dismal financial state of these huge entitlement programs. And every year, the political class in Washington ignores it, not having the courage to fight for real change, while things continue to worsen.
Now big business, unions and Congress are getting themselves exempted out of Obamacare, ready to leave the rest of country to be shepherded into socialized medicine.
But Sen. Cruz, like his brave father Rafael, is putting his life, his fortune and his sacred honor on the line to save our beleaguered country.
When Abraham Lincoln took office, he still believed that slavery could be purged from America through deliberation. But soon it became clear that only war would do it.
America must stand by Cruz and other brave tea party Republicans who understand the message of Ecclesiastes: that there is a time for everything, and that today is the time for confrontation.
The future of politics.
This is governance by HISSEY-FIT and TANTRUM !!
If they (0bama and Reid) don’t get their way.
Look at Washington staffers. Nothing more than in house lobbyists.
Try to find anyone who would pledge his or her life and fortune for anything.
So, so true. These people have no earthly idea about economic hardship, intrusive government and meddling, government schools that brainwash their children, or what freedom actually means out here in real America.
They are secure in their 6 figure jobs, their cronyism, their frequent dinings-out in upscale bistros and cafes where the clientele is protected from the regular indigenous denizens either by massive police presence or geographically across the river..
With all this, they complain fiercely they just CANNOT make it if they have to pay for their own healthcare, they are financially DEVASTATED by a government shutdown of a few days/weeks, they CANNOT abide by rules meant for the peons - they are the superior elite who know what's best everyone - but not for them.
Frankly, I'm hoping for a shutdown of at least 3-6 months, but I doubt it will even last that long.
Unless voters are hurt by a “shutdown”, why would they care one way or the other? If their government “goodies” stop, THEN you have their attention!
Heck, I can't even find them on the internet.
And likewise, although our words and our votes don't make much of a ripple, if we stopped paying taxes, the "goodies" going the other way...THEN we would have the attention of the parasitical ruling class in DC.
We should show the same willingness to compromise as the dhimmis did when they jammed this monstrosity thru in the first place.
The Loss of the 40 Hour Work Week is WORTH CONFRONTING!
Compromise can only be possible when both sides have the same goal, but when one is to preserve the Republic and the other is to destroy the Republic there can be no compromise. And that IMHO is the situation as it currently stands.
MAKE DC LISTEN: TELL YOUR SENATORS, ESPECIALLY THE DEMOCRATS !

Obama has found it very easy to advance his narrow ideological agenda of failure-prone Marxism.
4 years after Obama conned his Democrats into passing the Federal takeover of the cash cow of Medical Insurance, the PC, Doormat Republicans are finally timidly suggesting defunding that Federal takeover.
Without the weak, PC, Doormat Republicans Boehner and McConnell being stupidly kept in their respective leadership positions by truly cowardly House and Senate Members, Obama Medical Insurance Care Takeover would have been defunded long ago.
The primal yearning of the 47 % who pay no personal Federal Income tax is to belong to a tribe where all of their choices are dictated to them by their arrogant tribal leader.
This a common trait of those who have low self-esteem.
In that sense, Obamanation is truly a cult: low self-esteem people believing everything their cult leader tells them, no questions asked.
Freedom is defined in the dictionary as follows:
1.) Exemption or liberation from slavery or imprisonment.
3.) Liberty of choice or action.
Most of the 47 % riding in the free wagon seek out slavery, and lack of personal choice.
They thus feel safe, and secure in the knowledge that this is a bad as it is going to get.
Liberty is defined in the dictionary as follows:
1.) The state of being exempt from the domination of others or from restricting circumstances; freedom.
5.) The power of voluntary choice: freedom from necessity.
6.) Individual Liberty: Freedom from restraint in the performance of rights outside of government control.
Most people who are getting a free ride in the wagon where 47 % pay no personal Federal Income Taxes, are terrified of making a voluntary choice.
The 47 % would prefer that they be under government control where the choices are made for him.
All of this societal wussiness has made it very easy for B. Hussein Obama, aka Barry Soetoro, to advance his narrow ideological agenda of European-style, failure-prone, Marxism in spite of PC, Doormat Republican token opposition.
BTW, unlike taxes, Federal Obama care Insurance charges can be increased EVERY YEAR to whatever % the present and future arrogant leaders of Obamanation wants.
BTW, BTW, the free-loading 47 % will always vote for the Candidate for POTUS approved by Obamanation.
The question to be asked is: If it is in the Nations best interest to shut down the Government, then why are there only TWO Federal Politicians, Obama and Reid, loudly advocating shutting down the US Federal Government?
Obama has MANY reasons to shutdown the Federal Government such as:
1.) A headline grabbing story that will distract attention from the Impeachable scandals of:
Benghazi Massacre Dereliction of Duty by Obama as CIC;
Obamacare Insurance managed by the corrupt IRS;
IRS harassment of political opponents of Obama;
Use of the NSA by Obama to spy on everybody in the USA;
2.) The use of fear of a shutdown might help to protect defunding and eventual abolishment of Obamas narrowly focused ideological agenda of an European-style, failure-prone, Marxist, monopoly of the US Medical Insurance Industry.
3.) Spreading fear and blame might also preserve Obamas power to increase Obamacare Insurance premiums on an annual basis.
*This would be highly advantageous to Obama as the increase in mandatory insurance premiums would not be a tax, as the unexpected market conditions would be given as the reason for the increase.
*Also there would be no need to ask for the Advice and Consent of Congress, as the IRS would be in complete control of all income and medical records.
4.) The last reason is the most important for Obama, personally: America would at last no longer be a Nation where the Liberty to choose ones own family destiny could ever exist again.
As for Reid, the best guess I have is that he wants a Government Monopoly of the Medical Insurance Industry. Well, to be fair, Reid calls for a single payer system.
My suspician is that multi-millionaire Reid, nearing Federal retirement, owns a lot of stock in some companies that are tied to a single payer system.
Maybe the NSA, or the IRS can find out for us?
Im going to ask my US Senator from TEXAS, The Esteemed Senator John To Hell with my voters Cornyn to check on this for me - - - .
Compromise means that everyone gets something, and no one gets everything.
In our case we own one half of the three important arms of government. We cannot expect to get half of what we want. But we should get a third.
Maybe we should do what has been suggested and let them have it. After all they wanted it. No Republican voted for the unaffordable healthcare in the House and the Senate. Pray that no Republican, and that includes the RINOs will agree with dingy Harry.
Majority of Senate Republicans Cave on Obamacare Funding
Republicans could have stopped the funding of Obamacare dead in its tracks, but the following Obamacare-supporting Republican Senators ignored the will of the American people and caved when it really mattered:
Alexander (up for re-election in 2014)
Cochran (up for re-election in 2014)
Collins (up for re-election in 2014)
Cornyn (up for re-election in 2014)
Graham (up for re-election in 2014)
McConnell (up for re-election in 2014)
Two Republican senators did not vote:
As the law authorizing President Obama to spend more money on Obamacare expires this Monday, it is up to the House to make the final stand. As Article 1, Section 7 of the Constitution requires, all spending bills in Congress must originate in the House. Therefore, funding of Obamacare cannot happen without Republican support.
