The 32-year-old Californian elementary school teacher and mother-of-two who admitted performing sex acts on a 12-year-old student was sentenced on Friday to six-years in prison with no option for parole.
Malia Brooks, from Southern California, pleaded guilty in June to three counts of committing lewd acts with a child under 14 and faced up to 12-years in prison, but Judge Kevin McGee imposed a sentence half that because of the fact she was experiencing manic episodes at the time.

"even though she was suffering manic episodes at the time." Cue Jimi Hendrix.
(abbreviated title to fit)

Guilty, but perhaps eligible for a BJ Clinton post-POTUS pardon.
Guilty.
Guilty.
In the words of the cops on South Park.....”nice.....nice!”
Oh, and Not Guilty!
Your honor, we find the defendant guilty...
....and possible relations with Gumby when she was a little girl living with her grandparents in Istanbul...and she's 0.2% part Cherokee and wants to go to DC....
Six years. I hope it was REALLY GREAT SEX - THE BEST EVER. Just guessing, but i'd suspect a 12 yo of any gender ain't great.

You need to set your bar a little higher... at least off the floor.
I never understand why everybody has an excuse as to why they did something. So, she was manic depressive and suffered a rape years ago. Should that excuse crimes she commits today?

A lot of younger women (and men) these days treat sex like it’s no big deal. Dating, for example, isn’t just dinner and a movie. It’s hooking up, having sex. So these women basically have little or no morals (the left calls this liberated).
My point? When you’ve done or tried just about everything sexual with a large number of partners by the time you’re 25, you don’t exactly have high standards anymore. On the other hand, if you’re a traditional, moral woman who is a virgin or who has only had sex with their husband, you are probably far less likely to initiate sex with someone else. It would be a big deal rather than a routine act.
To the husband: your wife went after a TWELVE YEAR-OLD to satisfy her perverted cravings? It appears you chose 'poorly'.
I don't know if either “17 years ago” or “possible” is enough to try to sway people to her side in regard to the matter of a 12-year old child being raped. Maybe others would sympathize.
..IF YOUR 0.02% PART Cherokee.
so.....just like Mary Kay Letourneu, the student will be 18 by the time she gets out and they can marry and live happily ever after?
Same thought I had.
Eh, she got off easy, if this had been a guy he’d be looking at 30 years with no parole. She should get down on her manic depressive knees and thank God for being female.
That might be what started this whole thing to begin with.
For the 12yo, it was probably the best four seconds of his life.
LOL
I forgot about them. Are they still married do you know?
The Bush’s fault!
Letourneau’s brother John Patrick Schmitz was the deputy counsel to President George H. W. Bush.[9] Another brother, Joseph E. Schmitz, was Inspector General of the U.S. Department of Defense under George W. Bush.

These days? I went to college in the mid to late 70s and what you describe was in full swing, and we certainly did not start it.
I guess if by ‘these days’ you mean close to the last 50 years (if not longer, I really doubt how chaste the bobby soxers were).
Gotta tell you, I have a 12 year old grandson and this turns my stomach.
Perve.
You may have been around people like that in the 70’s, but if you think the immorality was as blatant and pervasive back then as now, I think you’re wrong. In the 70’s people where I was from still considered it morally wrong to live with someone out of wedlock, homosexuality was roundly considered perverted and immoral, and an out of wedlock birth was both rare and strongly condemned. I don’t doubt that there were people back then that slept their way through a lot of partners, but those people weren’t considered admirable like in today’s popular culture. Yeah. There was a time in America when a woman who slept around was still considered a slut. That doesn’t mean there weren’t sluts, but they weren’t the norm.
