I covered a special operations aviation battalion located inside of Savannah for about 3 years back in the late 80’s. I fell in love with the town. I was located on the Ky/Tenn border, so had to fly down there regularly to visit with them.
When I went to work in Savannah it was like a vacation.
And I’m Methodist, and Savannah’s the site of John Wesley’s one venture into the America’s, so the history was awesome.
Sadly, had to do a funeral at St John Baptist Catholic Church after a tragedy, but that introduced me to that American cathedral and their master wood-carved stations of the cross brought over from the masters in Germany, Oberammergau I think. If you’ve not seen them, they are worth the trip. About 1/2 life sized. You’ll be amazed at the detail, if you’ve not seen it before. Also, I remember the priests being so kind and incorporating me fully into the entire service even though a Methodist chaplain.
And I can’t say enough about the naval base at Charleston, and the market with those grass weavers, and the historical sites.
The bonus is that the two are in such great striking distance of each other.
And it should have been obvious that he wasn’t a conservative. Clinton wasn’t impeached for a BJ in the oval office. It was for provably lying under oath. Libby got jail for an inadvertent twist of the truth.
Clinton got a pedestal for a willing lie.
