When I was a contractor for the feds, I did not get paid during shutdowns. Still, I loved it when they shut down, because it proved we did not need as big of government as we had.
I am hearing unsure about retoractive pay. I have savings. This is just the cost of working for the government.

Each time, I shed more and more. I got rid of things sentimental.
From Rockville, my choice was, “Can I replace it?”
If the answer was yes, I threw it away.
This last move, the question was, “Can I survive in the woods without it?”
If the answer was yes, I threw it away. When you are looking at homelessness, you learn to get rid of a lot of stuff.
Obama Care has affected me, I have three friends that have been cut back to 28 hours, I have been supplementing their pantries otherwise they would be on food stamps or starve....
I would like to have nicer things, but I am too damn busy helping my friends out that have been screwed over by Obama care....

We were notallowed to work, by contract. My biggest worry was that they would realize they didn’t need my job filled. That happened once.
The farmers around here said they will be letting go of full time employees and hire more temp workers to do thoe full time jobs.
News is reporting that the stock markets dropped today, and blamed it on government shutdown. Not one mention that they are cutting back due to Obamacare.
