New Hampshire College to Spend $3.6 Million on Gay Housing Project

A New Hampshire academic institution's leadership has approved a $3.6 million housing project for its lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex and allied students.

The Board of Trustees at Dartmouth College decided to approve the project, known as The Triangle House, at their meeting in September with work set to begin this month.

Before launching The Triangle House, Dartmouth already created a "Gender Neutral Program" which "allows for same-gender, opposite-gender or other-gender identities to live together regardless of biological sex."

Dartmouth is not the only New England academic institute to recently expand its housing options to include LGBT or gender neutral options.

During the summer, Boston University announced that they would create the option for gender-neutral housing as a matter of "roommate choice" in response to student demands.

Can I ask a stupid question? Why does a college have to get involved at allin this whole “LGBT” area in the first place????

Also, what is intersex??? I think I need to go to re-education camp right now, as I am clearly out of it when it comes to varying sexual orientations/identitites, etc.

You violate political correctness to say sexual preference nowadays. That’s because a preference implies a choice is made by people, but the current liberal line is that homosexuality and these other behaviors are not a choice.

It makes me laugh because at one time, liberals did speak of sexual preference. But now they don’t anymore so as to reinforce the notion that nobody has any choice in these areas.

Isn’t that nice. Dartmouth is spending 3.6 million on a mental hospital without the mental care.

Also, what is intersex???

My question as well. A smartass guess was... hermaphrodite.

Yep.

Intersex: A long-established medical condition where an infant is born with reproductive organs and/or sex chromosomes that are not exclusively male or female. Note: Previously termed hermaphrodite.

Also, what is intersex?

Actually, intersex is a bona fide biological condition that covers a number of areas where the sex of the person is not obvious. For instance, an XY with androgen insensitivity would be completely incapable of developing secondary male characteristics, and the primary characteristics would be so undeveloped that in many cases without an internal exam the XY would be indistinguishable from a normal female. In some cases ambiguity is caused by XXY, XX/XY, and various other conditions which are truly biological. In some cases the ambiguity can be cleared up by surgery.

Technically, Dartmouth is still an Ivy, but like Brown and Cornell, their standards have slipped. A sign of that slippage is being described as “a school in New Hampshire”. You won’t see Yale described as “a school in Connecticut” or Harvard as “a school in Massachusetts”. It seems like the “real” Ivy League schools these days are Yale, Harvard and Princeton. Their standards have slipped, too, but they are the remaining recognizeable ivies.

Dartmouth College, founded in 1769, has all these years used the following words from Isaiah as its motto: “Vox clamantis in deserto,” referring to man’s search for God. Founder Eleazar Wheelock, a Congregational minister who strove, among his goals, to bring college education to Native Americans, and one of Dartmouth’s alumni, Daniel Webster, must be turning over in their graves at this administrative travesty. Administrators of this once well regarded Ivy League college, once renowned for its math department, have ignored the values on which the college was founded and have chosen for logic not higher math, but the lowest common denominator of human behavior.
The phrase “Vox clamantis in deserto,” now refers to the intermittent unholy sounds emanating from the Dartmouth dormitories. Parents need to keep their offspring far from such places. Ivy is no longer green in the ivy league. Poison ivy has crept into every corner of the premises and is infecting young minds and souls.

It’s not just the Massholes. :(
Dartmouth is in my county. I was there yesterday but at the hospital, one of the best in the country for oncology (my need). Thankfully, it is nowhere near the campus. We used to be proud of Dartmouth. Not so much any more, except for the hospital.

New Yorkers (vile, vile people) are flooding into New Hampshire in wholesale numbers...worse than Massholes...far worse. Dartmouth is in an area of Red Hampshire referred to as ‘East Vermont’.

Yeah, there are two somewhat contradictory, competing correct views now. The one that tends to be favored by the boys is that “preference” is innate and immutable.

The one that tends to be favored by the girls is that love conquers all and it is actually quite bigoted to limit your loving to those of one particular sex—since it’s what’s inside a person is what matters.

This from the institution whose motto refers to the prophetic voice of John the Baptist, a man who was martyred for bravely condemning the sexual sins of the elite of his day.

I know exactly where it is...I might walk it on a nice day, if there were a decent place to walk on the side of 120. Most would drive or bike, of course.

Since I come in from the south, I don’t need to go near the campus and the offending perversion.
Just got off the phone with the DHMC palliative care folks. I know my way around the place pretty well, unfortunately. They’ve kept me alive for over 4 years so far.
