Happened to me this morning with my 28 year old obama voter daughter. She asked me what is the deal with the government shutdown? What does it mean? She also expressed concern for the 800,000 government workers. I explained a few things to her, what about the 9 million un or under employed Americans that have resulted after 5 years of a non growing economy, did those workers in DC, ever show concern for our struggles for the last 5 years?
Then when I told her that all these 800,000 workers, will get all their back pay when the D's and R's make a deal. Also filled her in on their health care subsidy's, how they make as much as her $80,000-$172,000 a year and they would normally not qualify for subsidy's like you won't but the D's will not agree to the federal employees having the same plan as the rest of America.
She is not worried at all about the federal employees after that conversation now.
They will get more than simple back pay. If they were on a scheduled vacation for any of the days they were “shut down”, they will not have that time charged to their annual leave. If they were on sick leave for treatment or for going into the hospital for surgery, those “sick days” will not be charged against their available sick leave. All that time off will end up being PAID official time off.
During their time off, they will continue to accrue additional annual leave and sick leave to add to their leave balances.
These poor souls will be laughing all the way to the bank at the thought that they’ve gotten an unexpected, and additional, paid vacation.

If the sample is large enough the mean and median coincide. 300 million is a pretty large sample.
They effectively coincide, IE within a few thousand out of hundreds of milions. The difference certainly isn’t huge, probably in the order of percentage difference of what you weigh at the Equator vs. at the North Pole.
Zero Hedge (dot com if you aren’t familiar with them) has a piece tonight about the “shutdown” that barely is. Even I was pretty surprised. If it’s true, then this is just a show. (Shocked, I tell you! LOL)
The lefties are *really* whistling in the dark (probably trying to keep awakenings down as much as possible) trying to “psyche” people out. I know for a fact they had a group tweaking a poll in San Antonio.
Take heart. I was nearly 40 years old when the light came all the way on (even though I was a fan of Newt & Pat Buchanan). I bet you raised her right & she’ll come around, fully. Probably sooner considering the extreme panic the dims are in.
