U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Tuesday warned that the government shutdown jeopardizes national security.
House Republicans refusal to be responsible and keep the government running has serious consequences, said Sen. Heinrich. Approximately 72 percent of the civilian intelligence workforce has been furloughed because of the government shutdown, jeopardizing our national security and the putting the lives our men and women in uniform at risk. The Intelligence Community is Americas first line of defenserelying on its agencies and activities to warn us of threats, to prevent terrorist attacks, and to provide information for a broad set of national security decisions.
If our military was allowed to have bullets in their guns while on US bases I might listen to him. Until then.........Crickets!
Does everyone just go home during the government shut down? No, so disregard anything he says.
Well than, U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) needs to do the right thing and sacrifice Obamacare in order to save the nation. I mean, if this shutdown really risks national security, like a city might be nuked or we could be invaded, then a one year delay in Obamacare seems like a small price to pay. Let those irrational Republicans win, Senator Heinrich. Sacrifice to save the country!
Yavol, Herr Heinrich!
Yavol, Herr Heinrich!
Tell the truth, did you hear the theme from Hogans Heroes playing in your and the voice of Sgt. Schulz speaking as you typed that?
Watch for an Obamacare deal where the dems demand big giveaways on Gun Control or immigration in return for a one year delay.
Lighten up, Marty!
LOL Pretty much, along with strains of the theme of World War II In Color on the Military channel.
Sure. Like the Boston bombing? like the underwear bomber? Like nidal hassan? They were warned about all of them and didn’t do squat about any of them.
The gov’t is closed on the weekends. What difference does it make.
Yeah I like the Military Channel too, but somehow my brain always goes to Hogans Heroes for Germans.
They are warned and they do nothing. Shut up, Heinrich.
Benghazi— Chris Stevens warned them
Boston Bombing—Russia warned us
Navy Shooting— Security clearance RI police warned Navy
Fort Hood— he warned them with his films and actions
Underwear bomber— his father warned about him
on and on and on....
Well, you know, Mil Chan for mean Germans HH for funny Germans. I felt kind of split on this Heinrich guy.
If what he said was true, would that mean the government can’t afford to spy on any and all Americans also? I wish.
We’re all gonna die!!
Nope - putting out feelers and hints to see if they can get some terrorists to take action so they can point fingers. They need something bad to happen because they can see some of the smoke dissipating and showing who/what they are.
You mean like a couple of Chechen brothers bombing the Boston Marathon after years of red flags... or major hasan in his work place violence event... or some little pin-headed black thug killing multiple times in our Capitol’s NAVY SHIP YARD? You mean like those breaches in our National Security?
