1. A barrier (usually temporary) that exists for no reason. 2. A barrier erected for political reasons.

"Dude, Obama barrycaded the park."

"Hey, let's put up some barrycades to keep those World War II veterans away from the open-air World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., in order to try and score some cheap political points."

And to add to that, there’s been 17 shutdowns prior. Did anyone forcefully close access to public lands in the other shutdowns or is this uniquely Obama?

My bet is when a Republican was President he tried to make as painless as possible.

And clearly when a Democrat is President he tries to make as painful as possible.

Interesting information/data tidbit. The WW II Memorial is PRIVATELY funded. It is an open facility accessible from adjoining sidewalks. How does Hussein Obama closed this facility? By what right?

National World War II Memorial
The National World War II Memorial was funded almost entirely by private contributions, as specified in Public Law 103-32. The campaign received more than $197 million in cash and pledges. Support came from hundreds of thousands of individual Americans, hundreds of corporations and foundations, veterans groups, dozens of civic, fraternal and professional organizations, states and one territory, and students in 1,200 schools across the country.

Donated and pledged funds were used to cover the total project costs of approximately $182 million. These costs include site selection and design, construction and sculpture, a National Park Service maintenance fee required by the Commemorative Works Act, groundbreaking and dedication ceremonies, fund raising, and the 11-year administrative costs of the project from its inception in 1993 through completion in 2004.

Remaining funds are held on deposit with the U.S. Treasury in a National WWII Memorial Trust Fund. The funds will be used by the American Battle Monuments Commission solely to benefit the World War II Memorial.

Our Military cemetery in Normandy is, in fact, closed. About 20 cemeteries around Europe and Mexico are closed for the “shutdown.” There was a story on FR earlier.

I was right. Urban dictionary refused to publish barrystroika. I defined it as the transformation disaster that it is just as perestroika transformation was a disaster for the U.S.S.R. (They could have easily deleted my reference to Obama's drug-addled ego.)

Now for prediction number two. Urban dictionary will publish barrystroika submitted from someone who just happen to all of a sudden think of it but with a definition praising Obama for the same good [their word] transformation intentions as Gorbachev sought for the Soviet Union but the evil Reagan interfered. :)

Re the BarryCades:

As one of the WWII vets after going past the BarryCades, said: “The beaches at Normandy were closed when we got there, too.”

Barrycades have only been used, so far, in outdoor Park, outdoor Monument, and outdoor Mall settings.

Construction of larger Barrycades to be used on the US Mexican Border had to be canceled when the income from the Fast and Furious uncontrolled gun control “investment” went the way of all other Obamanation investments.

Potential construction of Barrycades to be placed on Obama’s Red Line in Syria is being jointly studied by the US Military, and Nobel Peace Prize Nominee, Vladamir Putin.

Ambassador Dennis Rodman, no relation to Mrs. Bill Clinton, is rumored to be trying to put together a syndicate of his best friends to provide funding for the construction of these Red Line Barrycades.

North Korea spokesmen would not confirm or deny this rumor.

Barrycades will be a life long badge of shame hanging over/around the necks of Barry and his other Chicago Thugs in the outhouse.

The Obozo and his thugs in the outhouse and park service need to realize that if they create/cause a Kent State incident with our vets. All hell on earth will descend on them and the rats in congress for the next decade!
