-- At the World War II Memorial on The Mall in Washington, where veterans have been staging protests to keep it open, Washington Examiner's Charlie Spiering reports that at least seven officials were dispatched Wednesday morning to set up a ring of barricades to block tourists from the memorial. That is two more than the State Department had in Benghazi a year ago on the night of the terrorist attack that killed four, including the U.S. ambassador.
-- National Park Officials closed down the educational Claude Moore Colonial Farm near the CIA in McLean, Va., even though the federal government doesn't fund or staff the park popular with children and schools. Just because the privately-operated park is on Park Service land, making the federal government simply its landlord, the agency decided to close it.

The other day I was looking up something regarding one of the national parks. I clicked on one link, which happened to be the official park link. Guess what? On the webpage is a big announcement that the website was shut down due to the shutdown. Yeah, like they couldn't even afford to keep the webpages up because of those nasty terrorist Republicans. How much money could be saving by doing so?

Just because the privately-operated park is on Park Service land, making the federal government simply its landlord, the agency decided to close it.Actually, no.
The Park Service didn't decide to close it.
This only speaks to the quality of park service employees in terms of character and perhaps intelligence and mental health.
They are simply Obama's willing executioners...
Just following orders.
I have never had much respect for park and forests administrative personnel, but it's hard to lower that respect below zero.

Hey.. Oustide of the network histrionics, anybody notice this “government shutdown” yet? I did see on the local news that two vacationers from England were disappointed they wouldn’t get to see the Liberty Bell (it’s closed). I thought, “How appropriate. That thing doesn’t really have much meaning these days.”

Soetoro and tens of thousands of federal employees. Last I heard, it was around 400,000.

The Obamagoon Squad is enclosing the Liberty Bell in "prison-like" bars?
