Forbes Releases Plan to Simultaneously Fund the Government and Dismantle Obamacare
http://forbes.house.gov ^ | Oct 2, 2010 | Congressman Randy Forbes

Posted on 10/03/2013 9:35:42 AM PDT by Maelstorm

Congressman J. Randy Forbes (VA-04) today released a statement on his plan to both restart the federal government and deal a strategic blow to Obamacare:

“I hate Obamacare and I hate what the shutdown is doing to families across Virginia. Here’s my plan to address both: I am calling on the House to pass a funding measure to reopen all areas of the government except for the Internal Revenue Service. Not one penny for the IRS,” said Forbes. “The Internal Revenue Service is the teeth of Obamacare. Under the health care law, the IRS is undergoing massive expansions to hire new agents and enforce 47 new tax provisions. If we defund the IRS, we defund Obamacare. This plan would hold the IRS hostage, not our veterans, federal employees, warfighters, National Guard, reservists, seniors and defense civilians. I believe this plan will create real leverage for those of us who believe we need effective government as well as an end to Obamacare.”

In an interview with Mike Huckabee Radio Show, Huckabee offered high praise for Forbes’ plan, saying, “I think that’s a more reasonable plan and would have put more pressure on the Senators. I’ve known you long enough to know you didn’t go [to Congress] just to make noise, you went there to govern, to create a government that’s more effective and more efficient – I’ve always said that those are the two criteria by which we judge whether or not we’ve been successful.”

Randy wants to defund the IRS to defund Obamacare. Doesn't sound like a bad idea to me.

Right now the Democrats are suffering major problems with messaging. WWII vets, Kids with Cancer, National Guard and it could go on forever. The GOP just needs to keep making it clear that we are funding these things and Democrats are blocking them to protect Obamacare.

Great idea. This will really rattle the Dems. I hope Boehner gives it a shot.

Imagine reopening the IRS funding for all kinds of limitations, tax payers rights amendments, etc.

Love it.

Thank you Republicans for not backing down and shutting down the government!

maybe now Americans will realize that government is not needed as nothing is happening even though the gov is shut down

This is what the GOP needs to be putting out there while this is going on. A real plan for health care reform. This way Obama can’t keep saying they want to take away health care.

Agree. Along with the piecemeal funding bills, also send bills that will, in the event of an obamacare repeal, will a)allow ins purchase across state lines b)allow portability of insurance plans. For starters.

It’s hard to believe - or would be in reality - that an agency so egregious and hitleresque as the IRS shouldn’t be stopped in its tracks, no less be allowed to become the sole provider of American’s health services.

God we are descending fast.

at least the plans are all about defunding obamacare aka afordable care act.

Reid “let children die one at a time”

Obama “don’t look at the trees, the forest is closed”

Pelosi “Reagan is eeeeevil.”

Mccain “NOW can I surrender?”

Boehner “NOW can Mccain surrender”

King “I still hate cruz”

Obama “mine mine mine mine my preeeeecious.”

Enough w/ the damn CR, where’s the BUDGET? You know, the one that deals w/ the base-line a the 1.5T deficit since Dumbo?

The House is doing what it SHOULD be doing. ONE bill at a time; not these mega-bills w/ the ton of riders/hidden ‘gems’ for all but We the People.

Make ‘em vote, and let the People see the same.

OK, so we somehow manage to remove the goons at the IRS from enforcing Obamacare. I give it 5 days before Obama, Reid and them other bastids come up with a new and different way to enforce the ACA.

Like the US Marshalls maybe.

I think that is a losing gambit. The IRS though hated is necessary to facilitate the funding of government. Until the income tax is replaced by a consumption tax, the IRS remains mandatory. If we break our stride and pursue an IRS shutdown, we will falter with egg on our face. Better to continue trying to fund individual government departments one at a time. That's the way it always should have been done instead of these ridiculous omnibus spending packages. And this tactic exposes the democrat's exclusive requirement to either have us financially enslaved, or thrown to the crocodiles.

The Pubs need to push the Vet angle big time. The VA has announced it will not pay Disability Payments in November.

House needs to pass a VA funding resolution and dare the Senate to deny our wounded warriors.

Has the house actually passed these as separate bills yet, or is it all talk at this point?

It is easy to recognize the obvious PONZI SCHEME called Obamacare.

Obamacare has nothing to do with health, care, or medicine.

Obamacare has EVERYTHING to do with insurance.

Obamacare is a Federal Insurance Monopoly.

Obamacare is in violation of US Anti-Trust Laws.

Obamacare is a Federal Insurance Premium Collection Agency, aka FIPCA for Obamacare.

We CONSERVATIVES know that there will be other future Federal Insurance Ponzi Schemes, right down to the Insurance Premium collected for the inhaling of the EPA ruled toxic gas CO2.

Then FIPCA will be there to collect that CO2 Insurance premium from all citizens.

But I digress, so let us focus on the present.

If Boehner Caves In to the Court of Public Opinion, which is run by the Low Information Liberal “Mainstream” Media, and Obamacare is funded, Obama can then raise every year or quarter his Obamacare insurance premiums as high as he wants to, and the sorry US Congress can’t do anything about it.

Congress will thus be bypassed, and will no longer be needed in the future to fund the vote buying schemes of the social engineering POTUS.

Could Boehner be stupid enough to come up with his own Boehnercare Ponzi Scheme?
