NEW YORK POST — Tourists travelling to Omaha Beach to pay their respects to the 9,387 military dead at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial will find it closed, a victim of the U.S. government’s partial shutdown.
The site overlooking the D-Day invasion beaches is one of 24 U.S. military cemeteries overseas that have closed to visitors since Monday. Ten more cemeteries in in France, as well as others in various European countries as well as Mexico, Panama, Tunisia and the Philippines, will remain closed for the duration of the shutdown.

I guess people could volunteer to clean the toilets or pick up the trash or stand around and tell people not to walk on the grass, but getting upset behind a keyboard seems a heck of a lot easier.

What am i doing about it? I am posting on Free Republic to make fellow conservatives aware of it. I am also posting it on social media, and it has been shared many times.
Shining light on these abuses in the public eye is crucial.
I am also contacting my congressmen and senators everything these daily outrages take place.

Gee, maybe we should blow in a call to Mrs. “The Troops Are My Number 1 Priority, When I’m not Tell You What to Eat, Feed Your Kids, and How Much Water to Drink” Obama and let her know about this outrage. From kpbs.org:
Troops stationed overseas, from Afghanistan to Japan, depend on American Forces Network to watch NFL and MLB games during deployments to take their minds off their stressful jobs. But most AFN channels are now off the air due to the government shutdown.
According to the AFN website, only AFN News and AFN Radio will be broadcast during the government shutdown. The channels that air sports, movies, and television shows like “Homeland” or “The Sopranos” are off the air.
