If someone smokes pot but not cigarettes, (Colorado and Washington) can they state that they’re a non tobacco user and get the preferred rates?

Thinking about sucking it up and taking the penalty instead, for awhile anyway.

My calculation included no kickbacks from the FED because I did not qualify for them.

I wonder what a Platinum or gold level would cost.

Well you can go to your State site if they have an exchange I know California has one. My premiums for my husband and myself would be $1154.00 per month for the silver.

We currently have insurance through his employer thank goodness and we pay a total of $100.00 per month and it is much better than what is now offered on the exchange.

If we lose the current coverage we have we will have to take the penalty because we can not afford 1154.00 per month.

That is a great idea. What is it? 94 dollars or something. Obama is so stupid.

I heard somewhere the penalty will be progressive. So That might be an option for a few years.

With a catastrophic plan, you would pay out-of-pocket for most health services until you reach the annual limit on cost sharing ($12,700 in 2014). However, preventive services are covered with no cost sharing required.

Which is so ironic, because similar plans are available now on the private market and are much less expensive - have a health savings account component and in the long run better - than more expensive plans that cover every little thing. And yet, we are told, that Obama Care will make such private plans illegal.

I’m hoping this ‘train wreck’ is the final straw. It certainly has that potential.

I suspect there are paid “Navigators” prowling on social media sites trying to win over opponents of Obamacare. I got into a strange tete-a-tete with people I don’t even know over it. They used the same kind of language and tone. Very odd. Like Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

I heard that it might get as high as 450 dollars in ten years.....We should be able to afford it for many years. I do hope you have employee health care though.

So I am one of the fans for abolishing Obamacare, if not, defund it, if not that, cripple it. In any way shape or form possible.

However, as a fallback position of last resort, if we assume that Obamacare continues to be inflicted on to the US, as a counter to the financial drain, what about changes to Health Savings Accounts?

Like making the entire amount deposited into the HSA tax deductable up to the total of the premium or the out of pocket expenses?

Thoughts or comments on the last question?
Please, lets avoid the Obamacare sucks comments - we already know that.

Nope. Self employed.

This is where politics gets real personal.

If I had to go self employed, the ocare quote is half the cost of what me and my employer pay but the deductibles are huge. I can’t see how anyone can think this is better for anyone. I did see a blurb about taking the catastrophic policy route...not sure how that would be. Also, I have heard horror stories about quotes for pre-existing conditions so that tool probably is not accounting for that.

I thought about getting a catastrophic policy only, as well. But I’m expecting that one won’t be much less than a full coverage policy.
