It doesnt matter whether its drugs, bodies, or how large the group is, our agents are being ordered to stand down by Border Patrol management, said Moran. "I have received reports from our agents in every single sector from San Diego to the Rio Grande Valley in Texas that they are receiving these orders."
"They are not being relieved in place, they are simply being told that someone else is being dispatched, but none of us have seen that occur," he explained. "We are simply being ordered to stand down and stop tracking and trying to apprehend the criminals.

...the petulant little boy king is angry and wants the citizenship to know he’s not pleased.
Properly indoctrinated DHS Gestapo.....
Today is the day they can first get their free CA drivers licenses! Why not have the border agents hand out maps to the first DMV office? Maybe lemonade too, and a tiny flag that has Mexico on one side and old “glory” on the other.
My son is a BP Agent in AZ. He has not heard of that stand-down “order.”
They are in the field chasing illegal aliens and apprehending—unabated.
They are working while not being paid and all leave is cancelled while the govt is “shut-down.”
Is such an order, regardless of source, lawful?
Can the president issue a blanket order such as this?
At what point is a state governor FORCED to recognize that the federal government represents a hostile threat, and take the appropriate actions?
Recruitment effort. The government’s eVerify system, used to verify that potential employees have legal status to work in the United States has been shut down along with the WWII memorial. So, time to open the borders.Have to swell the ranks - get more dem candidates into the country in preparation for the Dream act etc. They’ll need jobs so suppress eVerify.
El Bienvenidos Wagon?
They demand the laws they like be enforced and ignore the ones they don’t like, or actively subvert them.
This struggle is less about the budget than it is about the nature of federalism and our future as a nation.
What? They are not paying people protecting the border? What exactly is essential besides protecting the border?
Volunteers needed to help build MOATs at the border - then we should stock it with pyranah fish! Who needs agents, just let the fish do the work...(Satire)
I would have thought the Border Patrol were “excepted employees” and on the job 24/7.
If so, ordering them to stand down and not to the job they are being paid for is endangering U.S. security.
the Obatyrant must luv it!
That is true.
They are not paid. . .just like those federal non-essential bureaucrats, but those bureaucrats get to sit at home and wait for back-pay (never earning that back-pay).
Of course they are. Obama cares nothing about laws he can’t use to destroy the US, so he just ignores them.
They are essential but they are not paid. . .they have to report to work because they are “excepted” but that is it.
Those non-essential types get to stay home and wait for back-pay for work they didn’t do, whereas the BP Agents have to work for their back-pay.
“If so, ordering them to stand down and not to the job they are being paid for is endangering U.S. security”
Oh, and they received no such order to stand down and they remain active and busy.
They are not “unmanning the border.”
The BP Agents are “excepted” and therefore still at full strength and busy on the border, chasing illegal aliens and drug smugglers. (They just aren’t getting paid. . .now).
Piranha, doing the work Americans won’t do...
