Honest to God, even as a kid it gave me the creeps, despite the monuments, landscapes, and museums.

It actually planted a seed of distrust of badge-polishers and other self-important types that endures to today...which is probably why I’m here so often.

NY Post says the woman was a dental hygienist from Ct. named Miriam Carey. They say there was no id in the car so I’m not sure how they know.

The bullet holes in the driver door can be seen in the photo and the left front damage just appears to be where paint fragments came off of the fender maybe from multiple rounds hitting in that part of the fender. Some of the cops may have been aiming at the left front tire?

Then realizing she couldn’t afford a ticket much less health insurance, she decide to flee, ending up dead.

I hope for her sake, that she has "fire" insurance. She needs it right now.

maybe she REALLY didn’t want a ticket. people on COPS do stupid car things when they’d have just gotten a stupid little ticket originally.

My first reaction when I saw the video was that she probably took a wrong turn and then got panicked when she saw dozens of guns pointed at her and her toddler. It was certainly premature for the House to applaud Capitol Police for shooting an unarmed mother with her child in the car. Where was she going to go from there? The spin on this is going to be interesting to see.
