Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker's administration defied the federal government by refusing to close popular state properties at the behest of the National Park Service.
The park service ordered state officials to close the northern unit of the Kettle Moraine, Devil's Lake, and Interstate state parks and the state-owned portion of the Horicon Marsh, but state authorities rebuffed the request because the lion's share of the funding came from state, not federal coffers.
Instead, the state's Department of Natural Resources "issued a statement saying all state parks, trails and other recreational properties were open and not affected by the federal government's budget problems."

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Calling all Republican Governors - it’s time STATE’s rights supercede “the ONE’s dictatorship and cry “WE THE PEOPLE” don’t want your interference in our lives.
Singing “On Wisconsin”!
The National Park Service has been so politicized under Obama that it no longer serves the American people.
More coming on this later, trust me!
Yes! That’s how you handle the ManChild and his tyrannical *orders*. SuperSmackDown.
Sit on it, and rotate Dear Reader.
Good for Governor Scott Walker.
So true! Right now SR120, the main highway through Yosemite, and over the crest of the High Sierra connecting remote eastern California with the rest of the state, is open, but you can only drive through the park, no stopping to take a picture allowed.
I like this governor. I have thoughts about him running for president one day.
That's idiotic. What law does it violate if you stop and take a picture?
I sure wish my state (Illinois) had a governor like Scott Walker!
I don’t know. I’ll find out. I live just a few miles from the eastern entrance to Yosemite.
he lesson is....there should be no federal parks. Each is within a state.
I’m so glad I voted for him......TWICE !
Scott Walker should open a SCHOOL FOR GOVERNERS.
He would be a great president. Classy, and never backs down. Independent and quietly working.
Someday, in some state, they are going to elect a serious person as governor. And then he will defy the federal government and shut down and bulldoze the abortion clinics in his state.
The states that have Federal Parks and Monuments should file Eminent Domain suits against the Feds. for control of them. They should offer them a fair price of $1.00 an acre and could easily justify the “economics” being favorable to the state and local communities by having the lands in state hands. Remember, the Supreme Court said that it was a good idea.
I dare someone to stop just to take a picture anyway-and get the reaction from NPS staff on tape!
Rebelling against a tyrannical leader is what being an American is all about.
When Obamacare was passed and all the states Dems and various commies demanded Walker immediately start opening health care exchanges, he told them all to take a aeronautical copulatory act at the lunar space object in so many words.

Love our gov!
—maybe not quite like Calvin Coolidge to the Boston cops , but still great-—
Jan Brewer in AZ is trying to keep the Grand Canyon open, too.
“I dare someone to stop just to take a picture anyway-and get the reaction from NPS staff on tape!
Better still, why not just take Smokey the Bear into custody and drop him off with the local Sheriff in Lee Vining!
Thank you, Governor!
