Report: Boehner told group of House Republicans he’ll violate the Hastert Rule to raise the debt....

The lawmaker, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said Mr. Boehner had said he would be willing to violate the so-called Hastert Rule if necessary to pass a debt limit increase. The informal rule refers to a policy of not bringing to the floor any measure that does not have a majority of Republican votes.

Other Republicans also said Thursday that they got the sense that Mr. Boehner would do whatever was necessary to ensure that the country did not default on its debt.

Bonehead and Cantors days are numbered. The only question is how much

We can only hope this is garbage. If true the Rats will just wait out the Pubs and we don't win back the Senate. If Bohner caves we might also lose the House.

The best thing to do is keep passing individual dept spending bills and maintain a unified message in the media. If they do this they win. If they don't we lose.

Email boehner to stand strong. Don't give in to propaganda.

He's retiring. We can't threaten him with our vote. Appeal to the best part of him that he may still possess.

Dear Donkey Party:

We propose a compromise. We’ll trade you one slightly used House Speaker for a bag of broken bats and an intern to be named later.

P.S. Please send bribes directly to PO BOX 666, Wash., DC.

Sincerely,

The Congressional Rhinoceri.

The debt ceiling is separate from the CR debate I think. Someone correct me if wrong. Boehner has no choice with both of these democrat orchestrated crisis barreling in at same time. He will probably have to raise debt ceiling for a time, but my hope is that he sticks to not funding ACA. That is more important at this point IMHO. Our leadership sucks but that fight will have to come later in primaries. I am not going to go ballistic on the debt ceiling if he sticks to his guns on defunding ACA and does not allow an amnesty bill to go through. Not right now anyway.

Anything Boehner encounters with a roof, he caves it in.

Does it really matter how much debt there is, as long as he can say it wasn’t his fault? he couldn’t help it? He is not responsible?

Ayn Rand, you saw the future of Detroit and wrote Atlas Shrugged. You saw the future of Boehner, and wrote the character Jim Taggert.

You get what you believe, send boehner an email...thank him for standing strong....

Encourage him that we are behind him...we are right?

Why should we be so hateful if he toes the line?

Encourage him...he NEEDS it...it's worth the country right?

Citizens can help with direction action...

I want a class action citizens’ lawsuit against 0bama, Reid, and Pelosi suing them them for $300,000,000 ($1.00 per citizen) for failure to uphold the Constitution as per their oath of office. Impeachment by Citizens. Where can I sign on? (Even if its tossed, it would make a helluva statement.)

He could raise the limit for 3 months to take it off the bargaining table. Have that debate after we get through this shutdown crap and ACA.He cannot do both at same time. It is political suicide IMHO. That is why the dems set it up this way. He fell for it..now he has to fix it. I believe the house should send the ACA to the Supreme Court some kind of way. Not sure how that works but this is a constitutional crisis. Obama unconstitutionally changed the law, so it should be thrown out. It is not same law. We are on solid ground with that politically and constitutionally.

The debt ceiling is separate from the CR debate I think.

You're right. The CR is for spending the borrowed money that raising the debt limit allows them to do. It is possible Bohner thinks raising the debt limit keeps the pressure on obama & reid. However, if he breaks from the base to do it the Rats will believe if they hold firm it's only a matter of time until he caves again. Also, the base will be incredibly dispirited.

...my hope is that he sticks to not funding ACA.

I don't think he can do that. It is probably a bridge too far. obama would rather have the country collapse than give up the program that turns the USA into a socialist state.

At this point the best the Pubs can hope for is delaying the individual mandate and making Congress live under the law. They will be more inclined to dismantle it if they have to live with it.

Our leadership sucks but that fight will have to come later in primaries. I am not going to go ballistic on the debt ceiling if he sticks to his guns on defunding ACA and does not allow an amnesty bill to go through.

It's a reasonable attitude and I agree with you, but I don't see how he comes close to doing that if he concedes on the debt limit.

So you would say opposite basically. Compromise on ACA and stay firm on debt ceiling. Well I am no strategist for sure. I just am not going to get too wound up when the cave comes, as long as it is not one cave after another. We do have to realize that our power is limited right now and the politics and optics of things is real. Not ready to throw in towel, but taking the longer view. Part of me just says let it all burn...lol...but we have to win the long war, not just a battle or two.

Of course..that could all change tomorrow and I will go back to ‘let it all burn’...lol.
