Posted on 10/04/2013 3:33:03 AM PDT by Altura Ct.
A female student at Canyon High School in Anaheim Hills was ordered to change out of her t-shirt because it promoted the NRA.
According to CBS Los Angeles, Haley Bullwinkle said she was sent to the principal's office in September "for violating the school's dress code that forbids offensive, violent, or divisive clothing."
The "offensive" shirt was a gift from Bullwinkle's father, which he gave her after he became a member of the NRA.
The shirt "shows a buck, an American flag, and a hunter's silhouette." Under this is inscribed: "National Rifle Association of America: Protecting America's Traditions Since 1871."
When Bullwinkle's father contacted school principal Kimberly Fricker for an explanation, she told him the shirt violated code because it had an image of a gun on it. In response, Bullwinkle's father has retained an attorney, citing the fact that the drill team twirls fake guns in their performances.

They’re reeeeeeeally pushin’ it.
The girl’s name is Bullwinkle and the principal’s name is Fricker. Just an observation.

God and guns. Liberals fear them.
I worked for a Fortune 500 company. I was lectured by my boss, a VP, about a conversation I’d had in the cafeteria with an employee about concealed carry. It was overheard by the HR manager who was “offended.” I wasn’t written up because you simply don’t write people up at my level. Since I started the conversation they didn’t write up the tech (who machined his own guns.) I was told to watch not only my offensive speech but to be careful who overheard anything I said. And, per policy, offense is in the eye of the offended. (It was the worst place I’ve worked as there were almost no personal conversations at all and almost nobody socialized after work or on weekends. It simply wasn’t safe to do so.)
I knew a family named Bullwinkel, back in the 70s. “Winkel” means “shop” in Dutch.
Land of the free. Home of the brave, my FRiend. You’re just lucky you didn’t mention anything about Jesus. Now THAT would have really gotten you in trouble.
More Gun Control Nazi nonsense
“Youre just lucky you didnt mention anything about Jesus.”
I understand that before I got there they told the employees that there would be no mention of religion on site. No “have a blessed day,” no “god be with you.” While I was there I noticed many employees had the praying hands or biblical posters, but not one word was said in my hearing.
as there were almost no personal conversations at all and almost nobody socialized after work or on weekends.

Just some more ‘lawyer/liberal’ BS.
You take that ‘tack’ so as not to get in trouble and YOU apparently are high enough up that some fool will eventually ‘charge’ you with creating a hostile work environment because you (purposely) DON’T ‘chat anyone up’.
Way back when—
one of the ‘ladies’ in the office had complained about someone ‘teasing’ them...I actually worked in the field but spent enough time (officially) in the office and just wouldn’t say anything outside of Official Business and only respond with good morning if spoken to first.... The old lesson ‘learned’ early in life - Only speak when spoken to.
You guessed it, I was referred to as that ‘Nasty SOB’ who never talked to anyone....
If only I had ‘known’, I should have sued for that ‘label’ etc etc etc...(except I was (or pretended to be) a ‘Nasty SOB’)
I used to watch a show called that back in the 70’s.
“Hey Rocky - watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat”
Why can’t I get people who offend me to change?
It’s available streaming on Netflix. The humor has held up very well, although the animation is obviously older.
Interesting. Here in America, all I can say is that the continuing anti-gun hysteria is a bunch of bullshop.
Couldn't ya have a bit of fun with this little tidbit?
Like, demonstrating absurdity with absurdity?
Excellently original euphemism.
“Couldn’t ya have a bit of fun with this little tidbit?

These people are deadly serious. There’s no such thing as “fun.” They can’t see absurdity. They can live with huge cognitive dissonance. If you want your job you play the game. Several people have said things along the lines of, “I mean nothing to this place and this place means nothing to me. I make money here and live at home.” It’s really a rather hostile attitude, but it’s adopted in self defense.
Sounds like a good little Nazi to me; "I vas chust following ze oahduz."
Sounds a lot like the facilities department of USC.
I’ve pointed out before that whenever we see “hypocrisy” on the part of leftists, it’s because we’re taking their “rules” at face value, as if the rules, and not the leftist/Marxist agenda, were what they are serious about.
When you take a step back, you see that their “rules” that they are so deadly serious about, are only enforced in advancement of the agenda. And they really can’t even admit that, and to some extent, can’t even see it, even when confronted with their blatant hypocrisy.
I am serious, if I were accosted that way by a boss after being tattled on by some HR weehie, I would have given my 2 weeks’ notice on the spot.
Actually, I did that very thing once. When the drunk, liar, manager (that was being transferred), “rewarded” me for saving his ass every day by putting me on some sort of watchlist with HR...
I called him an untrustworthy, unrespectable liar to his face and gave my 2 week’s notice... and this went down on the day before I was taking one of my 2 weeks of paid vacation time. I don’t recall that GE ever paid me for my second week vacation.
I suppose I am not cut out for bigtime corporate culture or politics... but if you need some actual work done, I am the guy.
Freedom of Speech is out in the ObamaNation. That’s “old school”. No more of that stuff.
The school’s mascot is the Comanche. Talk about hypocrisy! The Comanches were the most feared tribe in North America because they were the most brutal. Torture and mutilation was a sport for them that makes the Muslims in Kenya look like amateurs. Read Empire of the Summer Moon by S. C. Gwynne for a fascinating story about this tribe and their most famous chief.

Rocky and Bullwinkle show is actually pretty high level stuff, with multiple meanings on different levels.
Like “Phineas and Ferb,” only with more normal-looking people.
Ah! I never knew that and I grew up in one of the most Dutch of cities in the country! I guess Bullwinkel sounds better than “Bull shop”! ;)
“Bull” or “Boll” probably means something other than “bull.” I don’t know. However, all over Amsterdam, there were signs directing tourists toward “winkel.”
blame Napoleon for the Dutch names:
God and guns. Liberals fear them
In their case that is understandable.
