I work in the industry and have been through this stuff - the regulatory burdens that are being imposed on all industries, not just medical, are killing the country. That feeling I’ve had for some time of a massive thundercloud approaching, just keeps getting stronger and stronger. So yeah...

Right on time and according to the god, savior, and messiah of the Left and parasite class, obama's plans. As obamacare bumps along, you will see more companies that make different medicines for different drugs making the same statement. Ditto the research facilities. And last but not least, private insurance companies will begin declaring bankruptcy.

The only silver lining, or probably not a lining, just streaks of silver here and there, is that probably for the first and only time in the history of the Nation, the voting majority will get what they voted for: to wit} Their own demise.

Under Obamacare, cancer is the same as a death sentence.

No need for treatment.

Another silver lining, IMO, is the fact that for the first time in about 60 years, people are actually seeing firsthand how much health insurance actually costs. As a self employed person, I have always known what it cost as I have paid the bill directly for decades.

But I do wish the revelation could have been made as a result of free market solutions and not a government takeover.

I nearly took a consulting job for a major player in the medical device field.

Seems their major competitor had been harassed to the verge of bankruptcy by the FDA and the firm looking for my services had taken over all the accounts and could not possibly handle all the orders.

A little research showed one company was NOT a major contributor to the regime. Guess which one it was, the bankrupt one or the flush with new orders one!

The government has just decided to rename some cancers to IDLE

If as doctor decides your cancer is small and non-life threatening the government will not consider it cancer enough for treatment soon.

Who is John Galt?

Ted Cruz.

My wife woke me up at 4 AM during Ted's filibuster with, "He's reading from Atlas Shrugged!!!"

I said, "Great! Now go read the damn book!"

I suppose I should have been more supportive, but up to now, she's turned her nose up whenever I wear my AS themed polos or tshirts.

BTW, my 3 YO grandson looks great in his "Taggart Transcontinental" t-shirt. lol

5/6 minutes from my house. If I recall correctly, they’ve been in trouble for a while. Don’t remember the details. I think they down-sized a few years ago, not that many years after they expanded. They may have already been “troubled” and obama was the last straw.????????

Pinging to follow...this is not a good thing. Not sure if there's another supplier for the chemo-drug they (used to) make but there is a less-tested "generic", apparently. Cleveland Plain Dealer has run a few stories...but just to reiterate, this is not a good thing, for cancer patients, OR for the employees of this venerable company.

From what I've read, Ben Venue had a long record of complete integrity before some rather vague and inexplicable lapse a few years ago. And they have not been able to come up to standards (??) since, but I suspect that has more to do with revised standards and regulations than it does with the quality of the company's production/products.

Another great job by the FDA, /sarc

I know people that used to work there, a lot of them. We used to be a primary hangout for their employees, but not so much recently.

I’m not sure the government can be blamed for this one. They had to voluntary suspend operations a couple years ago for some pretty serious stuff. The main one was metal getting in the injectables, but most notoriously a bucket of pee found in a production area.

Before that their main reputation was rapid growth. Perhaps too much too fast.

Over the past year or two they have let a lot of their long term people go. Classic dumb move by business, it’s great for the short term bottom line but if you are trying to rebuild a previously successful business, not so good.
