It has been said that politics is the art of compromise. Try as they may, Washington leaders hardly ever get absolutely everything they want.
Polls show Americans are worried about the implementation of Obamacare worried about keeping their current health insurance plans, the new law itself, the exchanges, potential fines, personal privacy, keeping their jobs, their work hours and a host of other issues too numerous to list here. Both the country and the Congress have much to discuss.
Right now, though, President Obama refuses to engage in any debate or discussion. The president is demanding that he get 100 percent of what he wants, and if he doesnt, he and his Democratic allies in the Senate will keep the government shuttered.
Republicans have offered compromises that might stop or dull some of the negative effects of Obamacare but that would also pass a budget and keep the government functioning. Still, Mr. Obama refuses to budge. He will not even consider compromise.

“I will not negotiate”
“I don’t care how long the shutdown lasts”
“Republicans are the problem”
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
It appears we now have a regime in place that doesn’t listen to the people. I don’t think our Constitution allows for that. It’s time to dust off the Constitution and impeach this bass turd.
Well, der 0berFuhrer emperor Hussein 0bama I, Supreme Dictator has spoken!
He wants riots, destruction and death.
I despise him!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Feel free to use my traditional response to the jug-eared moron: GFY.
Impeachment would just be the beginning. He needs to locked up for what he’s done to the American people.
Funny thing about this is come next September, not one Democrat running for reelection will want Obama to campaign with him.
We probably should start running ads about this now.
A one year Obamacare delay is entirely reasonable. The president illegally exempted and offered delays to his special interests. All Republicans want is equal treatment for everyone else. You see, we want Obamacare completely rescinded, but we’re willing to compromise on a delay.
I just don’t see how the Democrats are going to win with an “all or nothing” argument even if they have the media on their side. Yeah. 30-35% will probably always be mindless Democrat drones no matter what the president does, but a majority of Americans will likely see the Republicans are the level-headed, responsible ones here.
We just have to avoid sounding like we’re anti-government. For example, we shouldn’t be thrilled by a government shutdown that hurts people. Read my tagline.
Republicans care about the shutdown. We want to end it and return people to work. That’s why we’re passing bills to fund essential portions of the government. Democrats, on the other hand, are the ones who are irrationally holding the entire nation hostage over a simply, one-year delay in the Obamacare mandates, a delay that the president has already given to his special interests!
The peoples house has spoken! We hold the purse strings. This is how the system is supposed to work.
Harry Reid will never allow an impeachment to proceed. That’s why there’s a serious risk of President Obama ignoring the debt limit entirely. He could probably get away with it, and I’m sure he’s weighing just that.
As long as Republicans stay the course, we’ll win. I don’t mean we’ll get everything we want by that, but we just might bring more Americans over to our side. As the article points out, Democrats are the unreasonable ones. They’re the ones who are ready to hurt people if Democrats don’t get what they want.
Someone pointed out yesterday that the Nazis’ rise to power started out as thugs pushing people around in the street.
“Knockout game” anyone?
“Who are they to determine what gets funded?” - Harry Reid
The “media” wants us to believe that the GOP is taking all of the heat from this shut down. The actions and attacks on Americans by Barry’s ‘RATS is telling me something else.
The barrycades at the memorial were WIRED SHUT this morning.
ObeyMe and his commie followers are begging for a “response” that will give them an excuse to arrest or open fire.
GOPe, are you paying attention yet?
I remember when Bush got re-elected in ‘04. The MSM couldn’t wait to look past that election and to the ‘08 election. The talk about ‘08 started the day after Bush got re-elected. The MSM is the problem.
FWF: “The actions and attacks on Americans by Barrys RATS is telling me something else.”
I agree. I think Republicans will win (ARE winning) public opinion on this, but we have to look like we’re reasonably trying to compromise and/or fund essential services. We aren’t going to win over the Democrat drones, but we don’t need them. All we need to do is win over the malleable middle.
You and I probably don’t hold the squishy moderates in high esteem, but we do need them to win political majorities.
Reagan: “The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally not a 20 percent traitor.”
Let’s not drive away our 80% friends and allies. We need to continue to make reasonable arguments why Obamacare must be delayed. We’re fighting for equal treatment under the law—no special exemptions for favored people and groups. We’re interested in compromise, in funding essential parts of the government—not in holding the government hostage if we don’t get our way.
” The MSM is the problem.”
That is the problem and that is what we need to focus on in order to take our countr back.
Just musing here...
How about a legal demonstration in front of the White House with all the protestors not making a sound, just standing there giving Zero the finger.
Reagan ignored the media and went directly to the people. The winning template is there but all the surrender monkeys are out in full force.
"Shut up," he explained.
For some reason, that line has stuck in my mind for a while.
He wants Obamacare and will foster riots, destruction and death to get it.
They are keeping the gummit shut down. Don’t throw me in the briar patch Briar Fox!
Pray America is Waking Up
There’s more chance that elves riding winged unicorns will drag Obama away into the clouds than that he will be impeached.
