WWII Memorial Barricade Wired Shut
Weekly Standard ^ | OCT 4, 2013 | JOHN MCCORMACK

Posted on 10/04/2013 7:54:51 AM PDT by MeshugeMikey

Tuesday morning, seven National Park Service employees were seen erecting and tending to a barricade around the World War II memorial in Washington, D.C. One NPS employee was operating a forklift. There usually aren't any NPS employees working at the World War II memorial.

A couple hours later, when an Honor Flight of World War II veterans arrived, accompanied by Democratic and Republican members of Congress, the fences blocking the memorial were easily moved away, allowing the veterans to enter.

But the barriers are still at the memorial, and they've been reinforced. This morning, I walked by the memorial and noticed that wires had been used to tie the fences together:

Go green. Pack all the barricades into pickup trucks and haul them to a metal recycler.

My uncle did the same and wound up in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. He married his nurse at St. Albans Naval Hospital and went on to have a very full life. Never once complained about his disability and loved, loved loved the Navy. He would be beyond disgusted by the cretin in the WH.

The question I have for general consumption is this at this point...

Would public perception, even if it is generally positive, look upon an “occupy” effort as disrespectful to those that are honored here at this memorial???

Just a random reality check...

My Uncle (God rest) took shrapnel from a kamikaze, first time they saw them. Never talked about it. Not til the end. I have his purple heart, his dog tags the shrapnel and the telegram to my grandmother saying he was injured.

I know we still have that fighting spirit. Listen to Patton’s speech. We still are the greatest. The reds in this country are now exposed. And they think they are gonna win. this is the weatherman underground plan, the only one they have and they have been at it since the end of WW2. McCarthy was right.

You do not have to ‘occupy’.

Without being disrespectful, just stand in front of the wire, shoulder to shoulder, forming a continuous human chain completely around the space with two or three key openings. Possibly then allowing only vets and citizens, and discourage the Press or Politicians from entering.

You may want to look closely at the potato-masher grenade and the helmet insignia and style in your picture.

It’s funny everyone is thinking send 2million bikers or truckers or just citizens to D.C.
No boycott the damn place and starve their economy!
Show them what a shut down really is!
0 has really shown his ass this time!

Barack Obama is becoming the Nikita Khrushchev of our time. The walls are getting bigger, and more reinforced. Since NOBODY is responding to FOIA requests in government, when all of this is over we should find out the cost of closing an OPEN AIR memorial dedicated to men and women of the Greatest Generation. These guys stormed Nazi Europe, I’m sure they can operate the machines necessary to remove the Berlin Wall of Washington.

“Listen to Patton’s speech.”

If you mean the one in the Patton movie - that was great! I’ve seen that movie many times (though not for awhile).

We should get the Fox channel or Fox movie channel to broadcast it. I bet there are many Americans, especially the x-gens and millenials that haven’t seen it (unfortunately, most of them probably don’t even have a clue who Patton was!)

Maybe if Fox broadcasts it right after American Idol, many that otherwise wouldn’t tune in will do so (why bother changing the channel - - too much effort).

As an aside, people can be standing by to take the place of those who become tired or need a bathroom break. The chain may require a few thousand people, but out of 300 million plus, there should not be a problem getting volunteers.

this lesson appears to have caught young master Tom’s Attention....

Hanks is a true believer.

Absolutely nothing will EVER change his sycophantic love of Obama.

Even if Obama had the vets arrested and beaten, Hanks would just go nuts on a rant blaming the Tea Party. Hanks is that much of a delusional leftist.

I did a quick search on wwii cutting wire and got that one. I did notice that after posting... there unfortunately is no “delete”...

However, the general concept was applicable.

One more media website for y’all. Now that hundreds and hundreds of reporters are being laid off across the country, the ones remaining are nervous and scared. They now have good reason to be nice to conservatives. Here is the contact info for all U.S. newspapers and TV stations. Just click on your state - it’s tanfastic.
