The cop must have been standing out with his gun ready. Either that or the guy shot himself in the chest when he got back in the car.

Yeah I was rewinding and looking at that, and I’m wondering if he dropped it because he was shot, or was he trying to reload? It looks like he got a few shots off then was shot by the cop which is why he twists to his right, I don’t think he got enough shots off to need a reload.
But then they say in that other article in the Daily News he was shot in the chest and died, does that look like a chest shot to you? He may have shot himself in the chest when he took off.

I’ve seen the rabid cop haters in threads on FR. I don’t engage them because I deem doing so as as useless an endeavor as engaging liberals who refuse to admit they are filled with hatred. It’s just as senseless as the left’s hatred of guns and gun owners only much more easily ignored.

When you define ‘cop haters’ as anyone who disagrees with you, I suppose finding threads full of ‘cop haters’ becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, doesn’t it?
I get what you are saying, and the fact the guys hands were hidden certainly adds to your point, but given the courts today (and more than a few FReepers), if the cop shot and all the guy was doing was reaching for his wallet, was deaf, anxious, whatever, then the cop-haters would have been all over the cop for shooting an “innocent” man.
Can an officer shoot when someone is walking towards them in a threatening manner? What if the guy had nothing in his hand and was walking to get close to fight the officer. . .no weapon. . .how is the officer to respond? Shoot? What if the officer shoots an unarmed bad guy. . .I dare say in that case the officer would be crucified for shooting because he was losing/lost a fight. And if the cop waits and it turns out the bad guy had a weapon and hurts/kills the cop, then the cop would be second-guessed harshly for not shooting earlier.
Yes, walking towards the officer with hands hidden is certainly threatening and that presents a real challenge on when the officer would be justified in shooting.
When split-seconds count, the media/race-hustlers/juries take weeks to second-guess. . .
This is how I define a cop hater: someone who says “all cops are corrupt,” or “all cops are power hungry maniacs.” Yes, these statements have been spouted on this forum. And if you agree with them, I don’t think many here will shrink from calling you a cop hater.
