They own the debt increases
They own the crappy economy requiring the debt increases
They own Obamacare
In all of these their constituents are hardest hit.
If their constituents aren’t listening they’re not being deluded. IMO, a good opportunity.
Probably won't matter when there is only one party.
The 'Rat party is $18 million in the red, and has not paid its bills since the last election. Makes me wonder if they know something is up with the dollar down the line, so might as well run up the credit card while they can, as they figure they'll never have to pay it.
People have to wrap their minds around the idea that Obama is not a very likable guy. A huge number of people are still saying to themselves "He's a good guy, and I like him, but..."
As soon as people give up on that conceit, that 41% number will fall another ten points.
The MAJORITY needs to scream.
There are MORE of us. Lots of his support are morons that would never support him if they understood what he is doing.
People need to understand tathe represents a MINORITY of the population.
I may be irrelevant to Obama but it’s not irrelevant for the dem party. They want to remain in power after he’s gone.
I predict that if his approval rating continues to decline, you will start to see growing opposition from within the democrat party.
I hope they tune in to find out WHY the govt is shutting down and hear the Truth about Obamacare!
It already is, that is why it never drops below 40%. It's the media's iron lung breathing air into their construct.
This is easy.
- Twenty-eight percent of American voters are non-white.
- College students overwhelmingly support Obama.
- Thoroughly Progressive/Liberals who support Obama.
I suspect the above are hard-core Obama supporters making up that 40%.
Ras is no longer Ras but they still love them some obama.

if they(approval numbers) get in the 30’s, they usually end up staying there... Once they get in 30’s, obama may blink.

It would be nice to have a graph that compares Obama’s numbers with Bush’s numbers starting on day 0 of their presidency. I highly suspect that the zero’s numbers will average lower than President Bush’s.
Isn't Gallup on either a 3 day or 7 day rolling average?!? Considering that the last few days Obama has been sitting in the -3/-4 range in Gallup, to jump to -11 in one day he must have had a day of polling that was in the -20 range. I wonder if panic is sitting in at the Whitehouse or if they are calling gallup and threating another lawsuit...
You’ve nailed exactly WHY the GOP needs to keep the pressure up and continue to force Barry into an escalating series of whining, petulant, on-camera crackups. This will eventually shatter the myth of the suave, likeable Mr. Cool.
Bingo! Looked to see if someone else posted before I said it. The numbers of the first two groups simply will not change unless he is caught humping a goat. Wait...the mussies would give him points for that. The second two groups might change one or two points IF it hits their wallets hard. But both of those groups are stupid, just in different ways.

All the more reason the Repubs should stand pat. Obama got an initial bump from this, but his attitude and actions are drawing blood from his own body.. and what happens to Obama will happen to democrats across the board. Patience is the key.. Boehner and co. are finally squaring their messaging... that movement on this will occur when Obama and Reid sit their asses down at that table and negotiate like adults... with obamacare on the table.
This, along with the repetitive reports of difficulties with Obamacare, are will continue to damage Obama, the longer it goes. People are starting to connect Obamacare with the shutdown.
Patience. Virtuous patience.
