The Pisgah Inn is closed compliments of the federal government. It's a private business that is located on government property. One of many businesses that are shutdown across the country. Some totally privately owned and operated. This will not stand.
The order to close came from US Park Service National Director, Mr. John Jarvis. He has been contacted. As citizens of these United States, we will exercise our freedom to assemble. We are assembling at noon Saturday, 10/4. Please be at Pisgah Inn.
Bring the sheriff. He’ll be the one in charge.
Boehner needs to call a special meeting of the Republican caucus at the Pisgah Inn...this weeekend.
I wonder how much money the NPS will spend today trying to keep the Inn closed? Is this a demonstration in the road or will the patriots try and enter the private Inn grounds and building? Bring enough people and see how far the tyrant’s representatives will go and try and stop the group. Have cameras at the ready and bring civic or Congressional representatives, if possible.
resist! If I was there I would be there
If parks are not funded, how can they be out “working”?
Always loved that place, as I had relatives in Ashville.
Their last home was in Biltmore Forest.
Sadly, those days are “gone with the wind”.
Godspeed patriots!!!
There is no way that folks traveling to that inn are impacting government spending.
Moreover, if this is a private business, I wonder if this is some kind of case in which the park service was able to claim land, an agreement being that those absorbed businesses, farms, and homes could continue to function until that generation is gone.
If so, Pisgah Inn should tell the Fed to pound sand.
If not so, they should tell them to pound sand on the basis of the park belonging to the people and not to the groundskeepers.
Good ol NCers!!!!!
For those that may not know...good, solid NCers have taken control of the state!!!!!!
From dog catcher up!
Is that the correct Sheriff’s Office? The Ashville Tea Party is listing a different office.
I love that area (Pisgah, Asheville, down to Brevard). I’m up in Pa. but stand with Carolinians, North and South.
Maybe its this one.

450 million delivered to and for pbs FRIDAY... nothing for real americans. pbs=POLITBURO BROADCASTING SYSTEM
Beautiful! Citizens everywhere are mobilizing.
Obama and his goons don’t know what they unleashed. They may hope for tea party-ers rioting, but we won’t.
We have the law on our side. And Obama in the wrong.
Hijack threads much?

Annette Szafraniec We are campers. Favorite parks are BRP, Shenandoah, Smokies, and Acadia. We were in Acadia with a weeks reservation and had to leave. While we mostly camp, we often stop at places like Pisgah Inn for TLC. I thought about all of us campers heading to DC in a convoy and camping there but wouldn’t know how to organize such a thing. But the thought of thousands of campers converging on the White House lawn makes me smile.
Exactly. Congress did nothing to order a “shutdown”. The Executive Branch is operating under the Anti Deficiency Act which means it cannot SPEND without Congressional Authorization. SPENDING for park police to “shut down” something that is NOT spending government dollars is in defiance of the Act they are operating under. Tell that to the Park Rangers that Obama is turning into enforcers of illegal actions; some of them have to be reasonable.
We need to start demanding that the federal government return land to the states. The federal land grab has been going on too long, and has only increased under Obama. The federal government disrespects states and citizens. Definitely not what our founding fathers wanted.
Why the hell haven’t they shut down PBS?
We are currently organizing the trip up from Dacusville. Looks like there is going to be big showing.
Tea Party should hold its rallies in the inner cities. If they can turn the blacks against the government, checkmate, game is over.
Last I checked, the Blue Ridge Parkway is still open, is it not? So there’s no reason to shut down a private concessionaire operating on a wide-open road even if the road is technically a National Park. This is nothing more than “optics” from the Obama regime, and it’s backfiring, even in Asheville, which is Granola Central in North Carolina (probably the most leftist spot in the state, maybe tied with Durham and Chapel Hell).

“but legally, they may have recourse if they lease and run as their own business”
Yea, sure, that’s the ticket! Good luck with that! The way the courts are ruling, they won’t even grant them “Standing”.
I spent a weekend at the Pisgah Inn a few weeks ago. Denying people the right to their pecan pie should be considered a crime against humanity.
Go Tea Partiers!
Be inspired—the WW2 vets are taking one more beachhead today:

I don’t know - all I can find is this from Breitbart:
“Pisgah Inn receives no federal money, and according to owner Bruce OConnell, who spoke exclusively to Breitbart News, All we do is pay the government money. We dont take anything from them. It is located on the Blue Ridge Parkway, which was deemed a thoroughway and therefore left open by the National Parks Service. Nonetheless, earlier this week, the NPS moved to shut it down. Michael Litterst, chief spokesman for the Park Service, said, We do not believe it is appropriate or feasible to have some parts of the system open while others are closed to the public.
Apparently, the owner has been contacted by Michelle Bachman and Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC).

Wait... What???
Isn’t the National Park Service FEDERAL employees?
What are they doing working when the government is shut down?
I can’t recognize their claims to authority.
NC ping
White House Press Release: “The beatings will continue until morale improves.”
Does this mean Biltmore is shut down, too?
“...good, solid NCers have taken control of the state!!!!!!”
OK to that, but there are still lots of leftwing nutbags in Asheville, Charlotte, Chapel Hill, etc.
In fact, don’t rule out a leftie counterprotest at the Pisgah Inn. Asheville is only a few stoned hippies away.
Rolling out......
Park Rangers Ordered to Make Life Difficult During Shutdown
The rangers even closed the parking lot at Mount Vernon, where the plantation home of George Washington is a favorite tourist destination. That was after they barred the new World War II Memorial on the Mall to veterans of World War II. But the government does not own Mount Vernon; it is privately owned by the Mount Vernon Ladies Association. The ladies bought it years ago to preserve it as a national memorial. The feds closed access to the parking lots this week, even though the lots are jointly owned with the Mount Vernon ladies. The rangers are from the government, and theyre only here to help.

Can you post situation reports?
“...South Carolina? Oh, I’m sure Lyndsey Graham will be there...”
-
Missed it by just one state.
Good we have a name of a senior jackboot. Now it’s time to get an address and have a group of citizens contingent air their grievances in front of his home.
Eh? Mizz Lyndsey’s from SC.
Oh, NM. I need more coffee...
Let’s not bring New Mexico into this. ;)
I’m just finishing off the last cup from the morning pot full.
Now it is that strange in-between time
Too late for more coffee and too early for beer.
Re your #26, The Parkway is open, but overlooks that
have gates are closed. Also Mabley’s Mill is closed
by Park order. More in your face.
