Lawmaker says barricade of WWII memorial is 'Chicago thuggery'

A group of Texas congressmen armed with wire cutters made their way to the World War II Memorial in Washington after they learned the National Park Service had reinforced the barriers blocking the site with wire.

“This is Chicago thuggery,” Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) told me. “The president is trying to inflict the most amount of pain and suffering. This is not some bureaucratic mistake. This is Chicago thuggery. You try to make people hurt so they don’t resist what you tell them to do in the future.”

I liked the comment that it is Obama's hissy fit.

Thanks for the post! Good to know some congressmen are standing for these vets! (and for the rest of us in turn!)

Awesome! However, the troops are heading in the wrong direction. The WWII memorial is the other way. :)

Obama can order his goons to barrycade the open-air monuments but he can’t secure the Mexican border against illegal aliens.

I wonder if the dems understand the blowback that is coming their way

We used to call the Republican Party the "stupid party". It looks like we finally have some pols who might be Mensa material and patriotic, while the dems have a big problem.

The problem is that if enough dems don't go along with the 'pubs in stopping the vindictive stuff, they're under Obama's control. They'll never get the party back from Obama's storm troopers.

Just an opinion....this Biden vs hillary for the next nomination is a smokescreen. Obama has another Chicago thug or other buddy who will step up and get the next nomination. EVERY dem politician except Obama's faves has been rendered impotent by going along with this.

How far is the Chief POS going to get before someone gets the you know whats to impeach or otherwise remove him? He can’t be this damned stupid to think crap like this makes him look good? Seems like he’s crossed his own red line, to the point where its obvious he doesn’t care what anyone thinks - it’s going to be his way or the highway. Dangerous, IMO. Typical narcissistic psycho behavior.

Louie Gohmert is great. He’s always been there to support freedom at every rally I’ve been to in DC.

I wish he was my congressman.

I wish he would run for weasel mouth Cornyn's Senate Seat. I would certainly support his bid with $$$ and my vote.

Even Beck is pushing Louie to go for the Senate.

The fact that Louie has not said a peep about it tells me its under some consideration.

Although I would love to have Gohmert as Junior Senator to Cruz, his absence from the House will be sorely missed.

I read on another thread that Barry is keeping the front barred but is allowing the vets to go through the back of the monument without opposition.

In other words, it’s all about the visuals. He doesn’t want to risk having his forces being shown clubbing elderly vets, but he wants to maintain the impression that he, his sacred majesty, has been obeyed.

Also, apparently some parkies disobeyed him the other day and simply pretended they didn’t see what the elderly vets were doing when they came in. I feel bad for the people who work for the NPS, because my experience has been that the majority of them are good Americans and I doubt that they’re enjoying this either. Barry may be afraid of a rebellion in the ranks if he pushes this too far.

I hate that MLK statue. It looks like a combination of Stalin and Obama with a bit of Mugabe thrown in.

That one they can close.

Doesn’t seem “his” side is paying a lot of attention or maybe they are looking the other way because of the obvious bad moves “their” leaders are making.

NV lawmakers Heller and Amodei at the WWII memorial making sure park rangers admit #nvhonorflight.

Well, that's good news

Pretty screwed up that two Congress critters need to be there to make sure our WWII veterans are treated with dignity and honor instead of political pawns in Obama's game..

Words fail me to describe how I loathe that POS...

Me too. I can’t vote for him but it would be an honor to help him out, and I would.
