Obamacare Facebook Erupts with Citizen Sticker Shock
Breitbart ^ | 10/4/13 | Wynton Hall

Posted on 10/05/2013 1:09:35 PM PDT by Lmo56

On Thursday, the government's official Obamacare Facebook page was riddled with people expressing sticker shock over the government's high cost premiums after struggling for hours to wade through the technical failures vexing Obamacare exchanges all across the country.

"I am so disappointed," wrote one woman. "These prices are outrageous and there are huge deductibles. No one can afford this!" The comment received 169 "likes."

"There is NO WAY I can afford it," said one commenter after using the Kaiser Subsidy Calculator. "Heck right now I couldn't afford an extra 10$ [sic] a month...and oh apparently I make to [sic] much at 8.55/hour to get subsidies."

Another person shared a link found on the federal government's main Obamacare page listing premium estimates for small business employers:

The information is not very complete as I don't see anything about deductible or other detailed info, but it does given an actual price as to the "Premium." It is VERY SCARY!! For example, my insurance plan right now for my spouse and I costs $545 a month with 100% coverage after my $2500 deductible. We are both 32 years old. When I looked at this site for 80% coverage it says it will be $954.78 a month!!!! So compare my old Plan: 100% coverage for $545 a month To New Plan: 80% Coverage for $945 a month. This is only only an estimate but it is VERY Scary for me to see this kind of increase in rates and reduction in benefits!

A single mother of two said she is in school and working full-time while living "75% below the poverty level." She said she was shocked to learn she did not qualify for a healthcare subsidy. "Are you F'ing kidding me????" she wrote on the government's Obamacare Facebook page.

This is exactly right. They thought Obamacare was free healthcare. Surprise!

The low information voter is also the low-thinking voter. I’m sure they thought this was another guvmint freebie, and when they signed up they were also getting 0bamaphones and free ham trees for the back yard.

It’s not so much that the prices are so high (they are) but that they are there at all.

Golly, free healthcare sure is expensive!!

Perhaps the Morons of America (MoA) will start believing us when we tell them that anything coming from the government always includes a screw job!!

Well, morons, you wanted it - enjoy it.

However, on the bright side, the more the morons understand the screw job, the worse it begins to look for leftists at next year’s mid-terms!

After they sign up, they’ll have to use it to find out what’s in it.

You are correct. They are no longer “low information voters”. They are slaves.

It is not PC to say, but I don’t care. It’s true and very dangerous.

It only helps him in coming out of the closet to start that fight. It doesn't help that most of the country doesn't want socialist-style "healthcare" and it will make it easy for the Republicans to call it what it is in no uncertain words, unlike they were able to do with this quasi-socialist ObamaScare plan. Single payer will be, and can be called, unadulterated socialism. The low-info bunch conflate socialism with communism. And when that battle starts, we can make sure that it gets noticed who gets the exemptions from it.

I think you have to really, really lower your expectations if you expect to be able to “understand” the low info voters. Me? I quit a while ago.

Me too.

I take comfort in knowing they won't survive long after the economy collapses.

Ask an Obama voter, is this the hope and change you were voting for?

So now people are going to find out how “affordable” the Affordable Healthcare Act really is...

More expensive, less benefit. Exactly what we all warned would happen. Less health care, too, as providers cut back on services.

What previously would have went toward co-pays and deductibles to get actual healthcare now will go toward additional premiums - with higher deductibles and co-pays to go along with it.

I heard Rush reading an article the other day about a man who earned $14,500 per year with a wife and three kids getting on Medicaid and the story in the media was trumpeting it as an Obamacare success story...absurd - obviously with that income he was already eligible for Medicaid. That’s the best the press could come up with.

That’s what they’ve been doing all along. Many of the problems before they used to justify passing Obamacare were caused by government interference to begin with - not “free market.”

I feel like we have been mischaracterizing the media when we refer to them as the “lamestream” or “mainstream” media. I think the more accurate term is servants.

They serve this administration and the Democrats more broadly.

The servant media.

Almost all colleges/community colleges offer insurance. Sometimes it is more expensive than what you can get on the market (my son has bought his own insurance a couple of times rather than pay the school’s rate), but I bet it’s a lot lower than the Obamacare rate. The school policies can include dependents as well. She should see what her university offers re student health costs.

O/T But I’ve been stopped from posting anti-regime obamacare funnies on FB. I have a number of liberal “friends” from an old job and not sure if they complained or what. Also when I go to “share” and “like” any existing anti-regime posts, I get a “security” captcha prompt. ARGGH!
