A new rally is forming, “Million Vet March On The Memorials” that will be held 9am October 13, 2013 at the war memorials in Washington D.C.
The group is fed up with veterans being used as political pawns and are calling all patriots to attend, via their facebook page:
We are all military brats, current and former military spouses and some veterans. We cannot express how utterly disappointed we were that our Greatest Generation were being used as political pawns in the ongoing government shutdown and budget crisis. This should never be the case.
We do not care what political leanings you may be; be it liberal, conservative, Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Independent or whatever. The actions of the U.S. government this week with regard to barricading and shutting down the World War II Memorial to veterans, that may or may not be on their last trip to Washington DC, is a despicable act of cowardice.
Veterans this week were unwillingly pitted as pawns in this crisis. We feel that this should never be the case. This is why we will go to Congress after the budget crisis and ask for a bill to be introduced that would prevent any member of the government from closing our memorials down to any American, except for maintenance purposes. In the meantime, we will have our March in Washington DC on October 13th! Our veterans deserve that!
Many in our group have decided that enough is enough. We are Americans. We are proud of our heritage and our service. As all of us were military brats and spouses, we have served in some form or another our entire lives. This is our way of life. We will not stand by and let the U.S. government dishonor the legacy of sacrifice of the generations before us. It is time to make a stand! We hope that you will join us in our peaceful protest against anti-American policies.

As much as I wish I could support our brethren in DC, I cannot travel to our nation’s capitol. (I pay taxes)

However, details have been secretly emerging of past and future plans for Barrycade “investments” by the boy-toy wanna be Dictator.
Construction of larger Barrycades to be used on the US Mexican Border had to be canceled when the income from the Fast and Furious uncontrolled gun control “investment” went the way of all other Obamanation investments.
Potential construction of Barrycades to be placed on Obama’s Red Line in Syria is currently being jointly studied by the US Military, and Nobel Peace Prize Nominee, Vladamir Putin.
Ambassador Dennis Rodman, no relation to Mrs. Bill Clinton, is rumored to be trying to put together a syndicate of his best friends to provide funding for the construction of these Red Line Barrycades.
North Korea spokesmen would not confirm or deny this rumor.
Why stop at the memorials? We need to go surround the White House and give let the idiot-in-chief know who he works for.

I went to DC as part of 9/12, I watched the Kenyan get in his copter and fly over 1.6 million of us AMERICANS to speak to 30 people at some private function. I watched our 1.6 million peaceful and polite AMERICANS be disparaged and belittled by the Obama ass licking media ...while said media claimed with straight faces that there were tens of thousands.
As I said, they have told us to shove our peaceful marches up our asses. Over 1 million bikers get IGNORED.
No, I am not advocating violence. Because I don’t think it is necessary. We can repeatedly shut down major areas in this country and economy by simply using the “weight” of millions of people to peaceably cause commerce to stop.
This administration wants pain? How about the pain of trucks not moving for 48 hours? There are all kinds of very short term, passive things that will raise hell.
History demonstrates that enough people using passive resistance can cause regime change in a surprising short time.
Wake up America. Petitioning for redress of our legitimate grievances is pissing into the wind.
Absolutely right, and why just truckers and vets to DC. Everyone should march on DC if they can, otherwise march on Fed facilities elsewhere. Find your local barrycades and overwhelm them with numbers. Ask the police manning them to call in sick.
I am in the Atlanta area and willing to organize our local troops.

If it's not a group with...
1. A clear objective and goal,
2. Experience in logistics to set up such an event (including permits, venues, ability to guarantee lodging availability and transport availability, and has funding (and sponsors) and insurance at hand, and,
3. A proven ability to take care of our precious older vets, start to finish...
Then, it is a prescription for failure.
Mass events need much prior planning.
I hope to be wrong (and corrections cheerfully invited), but this appears to be pot-banging and wishful thinking

Might be there a little over a week later if the area is still accessible. Want to visit those monuments themselves. Just to honor all those who gave their lives. My plan will be to park outside the city and ride in on a bike. You can have much more latitude with a mountain bike. Especially with all those auto deploying road barriers.

If you have served in the US Military, be at your nearest US Post Office at 9 AM EST on 10-13-13.
Stay outside for as long as you like.

I know some on here hate FB but groups I belong to have wonderful coverage of everything going on especially 2 million bikers to DC. One poster said, “hundreds of bikers show up and they open the WW 11 Memorial.”.
