Cruz promises Republican victory in shutdown fight
CNN ^ | October 5, 2013 | Peter Hamby

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, blamed by Democrats and some of his fellow Republicans as a chief architect of the ongoing government shutdown, struck back on Saturday, faulting President Obama and Senate Democrats for the political stalemate.

“Let me be very clear, I don’t think we should be in a shutdown,” Cruz said in a speech to conservatives in the Virginia state capital. “Throughout the course of it, I have said we should not shut down the government. But sadly this is Harry Reid’s and President Obama's shutdown.”

The government shutdown began Tuesday when the president refused to give in to Republican demands that he delay or change the Affordable Care Act, the signature achievement of his first term that began enrolling patients on October 1, in exchange for passing a routine spending bill.

In the run-up to the shutdown, Cruz - whose profile has risen considerably among conservatives since taking office this year - had lobbied Republicans in the House and Senate not to relent, even as the president was promising not to sign any bill that would alter "Obamacare."

Cruz reminded the audience that House Republicans have passed multiple “narrowly targeted continuing resolutions” to fund parts of the government as negotiations continue, but he criticized Democrats for refusing to pass them.....

“How do we win?” he asked. “If you trust the media, if you trust the voices in Washington, if you even trust, god forbid, some of the elected Republicans in Washington, they say we can’t win this fight. The only way to win this fight is the way we won every other fight throughout the history of the republic, which is solutions don’t come from Washington, D.C., they come from the people.”

Reid should be impeached, censured, and removed from office for dereliction of duty for failing to prepare a Budget for five years in a row!

Until five years ago, the government was funded through the appropriations process, called Regular Order (piecemeal). Around a dozen separate appropriations bills, each covering one or two federal agencies, made their way through Congress. Some passed through Congress easily. Others took much longer and witnessed more sustained and impassioned debate, and sometimes a government shutdown, as occurred 7 or 8 times when Tip O'Neil was Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The partial government shutdown of 1995 was another example where piecemeal appropriations bills were passed by both houses.

Do you suppose that Reid can justify why he does not follow the normal protocol? Why is he insisting on an Omnibus bill when that is not the normal way to do business? Why is not the main stream media on this egregious error by the Senate Democrats?

He sure looks and sounds like a great leader in the making to me. I observe him getting better and better - a one hour, no notes, extemporaneous speech. Wow! No handlers needed, writing and controlling through teleprompter his every words. He may even rival Reagan before it’s over. He is fully engaged in the good fight to the end while espousing encouragement along the way to his followers, he is out campaigning and speaking in glowing terms of fellow Conservatives even when those Conservatives do not have the guts to fully embrace him. He is a man who knows who he is, a man of the people and not Washington.

I've been calling their state and DC offices. I was displeased to find that some of my more RINO-ish representatives are using as their voicemail message, the "excuse" being used by rat congressmen, that their offices are closed to their consituents (ie the people who gave them this job) die to the shutdown. I pointed out to these that the shutdown wasn't affecting the response at other congressmens' offices, they found themselves still able to do the job they ran for, were elected to, and made campaign promises for my vote, to get. That they would use this an excuse for ducking their constituents has me greatly pizzed off. (Gives a slight clue to where their thinking on all this too).

He’s deployed more guards to bar our World War II heroes from their memorial than he sent to Benghazi when our consulate was under attack.

The President is treating our veterans the same way he treated school kids when he cancelled their White House tours. When times called for obvious government belt-tightening, he took it out on kids rather than look for anything that would affect him personally. And while our vets are barricaded from the memorial they built with their heroism, the government “slim down” won’t affect Obama’s golf game or his family’s White House chefs.

Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress are attempting to fund the Veterans Administration and other essential functions, but Democrats are blocking them because they want to make any slim down look as awful as possible in order to deflect from what this whole slim down thing is about, which is their Obamacare train wreck.

Why? Reid plainly stated that if regular order were followed with each department being funded in its turn then he knew he would never get money for Obamuzziecare.-—(and you just can’t run death panels without big bucks in the slush fund.) And that’s the definition of a gutless bleephole that knows he’s backing a loser.

Reid loves Omnibus bills, just one vote and its over! Maybe this congress is not so malleable! We shall see!

The Democrats know that the Affordable Care Act is a loser. It's passage was contentious and characterized by coercion, bribes, threats, and promises to many Democrats. Few, if any, read or fully understood what was in the law. Now, as Pelosi, says it is opening like a flower so we can all see how the economy and health industry is being destroyed. President Obama has unilaterally delayed portions of the bill.

Yet, there is no acknowledgement that this is happening by the current Obama Administration or Harry Reid. The Main Stream Media have their heads in the sand. Administration officials are tight lipped about its "IPO" problems. Problems the administration has had three years to solve.

But, not to worry, the low information voters have their Obamaphones, as do the implementers of Obamacare!

Dems are hallucinating, saying Cucinelli is tainted by Cruz coming to Va. Yeah, but wait'll the Clintons show up for their old buddy McAuliffe. Then we'll talk taint.

==============================================

Billy Boy was grinning like a simpering fool at the annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative Foundation....notwithstanding the bombshell news that Clinton had employed a Muzzie terrorist....and the Clinton Foundations were outed for shady dealings. Read on.

THE CLINTON FOUNDATIONS / MUSLIM TERRORISM CONNECTION --- The recent story that a Muslim terrorist was working at the Clinton Foundation AND conducting terrorist activities at the same time, explains why the Clintons just remade themselves into the hallowed "Clinton Family Foundation."

The "Holy Family."

The Clintons' 24/7 self-promotion--a familiar do-good liberal schtick: whining about "helping" the needy, and hoping to make a buck on it.

The Clintons' shady proclivities are unveiled in the recent NYT story. Corruption, greed, entitlement, nepotism, cronyism. The Clintons didn't have a pot to *** in in Arkansas---never even had a home to call their own. Now they're multi millionaires.......the connivers have perfected the scam WRT gaming the govt system for themselves.

=====================================

There needs to be a thorough going-over of the three Clinton Foundations. We need to know who pays/funds the Clinton's lifestyle/political ambitions---- especially b/c Hillary is running for prez. It is important to know to whom the Clinton's are truly indebted.

NY POST EXCERPT ----The Bill Clinton Foundation has spent more than $50 million on travel expenses — Bill Clinton’s foundation has spent more than $50 million on travel expenses since 2003, an analysis of the nonprofit’s tax forms reveal.....includes $4.2 million in 2011 for the William J. Clinton Foundation (to which Hillary and Chelsea are attached); $730,000 for the Clinton Global Health Initiative; and $7.2 million for the Clinton Health Action Initiative (CHAI).

==============================================

How many ways can the conniving Clintons use their name to launder money?

<><> The William J. Clinton Family Foundation......

<><> the Clinton Global Health Initiative......

<><> the Clinton Health Action Initiative (CHAI).

More importantly, what is the connection between Corzine's MF Global, Teneo (which paid Bill Clinton $50,000 per month), The Clintons multiple tax-exempt foundations, and Muslim money-Laundering?

===========================================

The more cynical among us might wonder about : and the Clintons' Foundations are money laundering for the Muslim Brotherhood.

<><> Teneo Holdings---Clinton is Bd Chair---hirted out as strategic advisors,"

<><>Huma Abedin had “State Dept special status" while a private contractor for Teneo Holdings,

<><> Obama pal Jon Corzine and his failed investment company (MFG "misplaced" $1.4 Billion)

<><> Corzine hired Teneo and Bill Clinton @ $50,000 PER MONTH.

===================================================

LET'S STROLL DOWN MEMORY LANE WITH BILL AND HILL As President, Bill Clinton made policies that raised hundreds of billions (if not trillions) of dollars for his obscenely-rich donor/pals.

His North American Free Trade initiative made it easy for, and even encouraged, corporations to outsource jobs and then import their products back into the U.S...... The repeal of Glass-Steagall on his watch sent Wall Street into the money-making frenzy that led to the Great Recession/Depression of 2008......and subsequent taxpayer bailouts.

In exchange for these obscene gifts of corporate welfare, at the expense of America's middle and working classes, you'd think the Clintons' rich friends would have no trouble coughing up a mere $250 million endowment for the foundation.

Now it seems, the captains of crony capitalism are begging off....they just don't feel they have enough money to help their old friends Bill and Hillary secure their so-called "legacy."

====================================================

Sen Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) is probing Hillary aide’s employment status, asking how Huma Abedin got a sweetheart deal as a private six-figure consultant while at the State Department. Abedin and hubby, disgraced sexter/loser ex-Rep. Anthony Weiner, hauled in some $350,000 in outside income on top of Abedin’s $135,000 govt salary.

Abedin held “special government employee” status, and worked a sideline---as a private contractor. One of her clients was Bill CLinton's Teneo Holdings, a consulting firm that calls itself the “next chapter in strategic advisory.”

============================================

HUMAN EVENTS: Last Dec, a former employee of bankrupt MF Global accused former president Clinton----chairman of Teneo's advisory board----of collecting $50,000 per month through his Teneo advisory firm in the months before MFG careened towards its Halloween filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, as hundreds of millions of investor funds disappeared.

Teneo was hired by MF Global’s former CEO Jon S. Corzine to improve his image and to enhance his connections with Clinton’s political family, said the employee, who asked that his name be withheld because he feared retribution, according to HE.

The Teneo contract with MF Global lasted at least five months, the souce said. The board cancelled it after Corzine resigned. The source, who is no longer associated with MF Global, said Teneo is a dual-track company with one side devoted to merchant and investment banking and the other side set up to provide image and strategy consulting services.

CAN YOU SAY MONEY LAUNDERING? The trustee for screwed MFG investors later sued JPMorgan bank for return of about $450M that MFG had transferred to the bank.

============================================

HOW MANY MONEY LAUNDERING SCAMS ARE THERE? LET US COUNT THE WAYS------Ponzi King Madoff screwed many but he also laundered money for tax-exempt foundations/groups that handed him millions of dollars.

When he went to jail, investigators found Madoff had stashed billions offshore---into a labyrinth of financial entities. Some $8.9 billion was funneled to Madoff through a dozen so-called feeder funds based in Europe, the Caribbean and Central America......a labyrinth of hedge funds, management companies and service providers that, to unsuspecting outsiders, seemed to compose a formidable system of checks and balances.

But the purpose of this complex architecture was just the opposite: the feeder funds provided different modes for directing/laundering money to Madoff in order to avoid federal scrutiny.

Cruz understands what a monkey wrench can do to machinery, even if it’s only a fraction of the size. Let’s see what he can do.

The Senate operates a lot of times with “Unanimous Consent.” They usually enforce it by making backroom threats to a Senator’s personal projects. I always wondered what would happen if one Senator stood up and said, “I object!” Before he went turncoat on us, Jeff Flake could have done this. He blew his chance.
