FORT WAYNE (AP) — Police in Fort Wayne say a homeowner fatally shot a man who was apparently breaking into the house.
Officers were called to the house late Sunday, where they found the man on the front port. The Journal Gazette reports medics pronounced him dead at the scene just south of the city's downtown.
Fort Wayne police spokesman Officer Michael Joyner tells WANE-TV the preliminary investigation shows the man tried to enter the house and was shot by the homeowner in self-defense. Joyner says other robberies have happened in the neighborhood recently, but the slain man wasn't believed involved with those.
Joyner says investigators were questioning the homeowner, who is in his 70s and was home alone at the time. The homeowner wasn't injured.
Case closed ...

Had this happened in a Leftist state, the homeowner would have been executed by now, Leftists loving to suspend their contempt for the death penalty when law-abiding gun owners exercise their rights.
One 70 year old man stopped hundreds - maybe thousands of crimes this man would have committed over a lifetime.
While police are not certain whether the perp had been involved in past burglary, they can be fairly certain that he won’t be involved in any future one.
Maybe no burglaries in his future, but a lot of fraudulent voting.
Yeah, but I would bet he will continue voting.
This shooting did put and end to his violent crime, but the fraud crimes will continue.
And officer Joyner can tell this how? Sort of like Police Chief Moose declaration that the DC sniper wasn't terrorist related as was probably an angry white man in a white panel van?
How did that turn out?
It's scary how the 'oh so tolerant liberals' hate conservative white men so much they're willing to target them before any facts are in...

Well, I guess he can wait a few weeks and see if there are any more burglaries! Kinda a stupid statement at the outset, but then he’s a cop so it makes sense.
As I recall there was an “expert profiler” on TV who stated unequivocally that the sniper was an unmarried white male in his twenties acting alone. No room for doubt on that. I believe the profiler was a woman, I have often wondered if her services have ever been requested again after that.

Because witnesses reported that all the other robberies were committed by a white male with a full beard but no mustache who answered to the name Abner Stoltzfus. He was dressed in dark pants, a long sleeved white shirt and wore suspenders and a hat. He escaped in a closed vehicle pulled by a very fast trotter.
