A troubled young mother is shot dead and our ruling class applauds.
An unarmed 34-year-old woman suffering from postpartum depression is surrounded by the authorities while sitting in her car, and gunned down in cold blood. She is blocked in. She cannot move. And yet she is killed by heavily armed security officers. Her one-year old child witnesses this from the back seat. Why is this not a national tragedy?
Miriam Carey was a young African-American woman who wanted to better herself. She went to college and graduated with a BA degree in health and nutrition science. She became a dental hygienist. One of her neighbors noted that it was obvious she was educated. She gave birth to her daughter a year ago and began to suffer from postpartum depression. She displayed some irrational behavior and was put on medication.
Thus far it’s not an uncommon story. About 50% of women who give birth suffer from postpartum depression. A friend of mine was on medication for more than 8 years after her daughter was born. This might conceivably happen to my daughter. Or to one of Obama’s daughters, come to think of it.
Then, on October 3, Miriam crashed her car into a security barrier near the White House. She was surrounded by security men shouting at her and pointing high-power guns. Was it so irrational to try to escape, to protect her daughter from men pointing pistols at her? A chase ensued, and she then crashed her car into a median somewhere in the vicinity of the Congress. She was blocked by security forces from several agencies. She could not move. She was unarmed, and alone save for her daughter. In her car, unprotected. And then she was killed...

Wonder if they’ll do a DNA analysis of the child?
The results could be enlightening.
Whether she was troubled or making 100,000 a year is beside the point. She actually sounds fairly high functioning to be able to make that drive alone with a small child. Perhaps the paranoia states drifted in and out.

The President addressed his plight, the Department of Justice wanted to invoke double jeopardy, and every news agency talked about it 24/7, even when they had to make up facts to keep the story going!
If Zimmerman was out of line for shooting an unknown male assailant, with who he was in a fist fight, alone in the dark, when the other guy may have been reaching for Zimmerman’s gun, and for all Zimmerman knew, may have had a gun or knife of his own...
If Zimmerman is such a despicable, evil, cowardly, racist, monster for shooting Martin under these circumstances...
HOW can a thousand military style armored police with AR’s, helicopters, Federal and military support possibly shoot an unarmed FEMALE and be judged heroic? In broad daylight?
Exactly whose life did she threaten?
Or does the security of the elite rulers somehow count for more than the lives of the citizens they are sworn to serve?

I watched the video and she was definitely moving as they were shooting at her. She was not blocked in. That does not mean that I approve of her being shot.

You sound like you know, so I'll ask you. Was she attempting to kill anyone when she was shot? If so, with what? If not, why was it proper to execute her?
The shooters are still arguing over who gets to put a notch on their gun.
So little details, I agree. The smashed up cop car? I did see video of that and he crashed that car all by his happy self. Her car was no where around. Again, I don’t understand how she crashed into a barrier and there is no front end damage to her car.
You think they will release the radio tapes? I’m sure we’d hear officer down, shots fired, you name it.

I have not seen video from when she was actually shot. Where did you see that?
Also, at the link, people are blaming the family for not getting her help. When a family member is over 18 there is not much you can do, until they do something illegal.
There are shockingly many here on FR that would be happy to buy the trigger happy cops a beer. Two beers for getting someone unarmed and three getting an ‘amish’.

(2)(a) Subject to (b) of this subsection, the license or permit to drive or any nonresident privilege of any person convicted of reckless driving shall be suspended by the department for not less than thirty days.
Guess what? Nowhere is the penalty death by multiple rounds of gunfire.
NO doubt what media means by ‘rammed a barrier’ is actually, “bumped into one of those obama-gates they put up all over the mall”.
Has anyone heard anything about the guy who set himself on fire Friday on the Mall? Supposedly he had recorded a statement before Johnny Storming.
Nobody knows his name, age, race, history, political persuation, etc etc. It’s as if it never happened after the initial few new reports.
It’s just odd. People do this as a last act of defiance to make a public statement. If this happened in Tibet or Damascus, we’d have chapter and verse, I’m sure.
Yes, of course, to stop, surround, and execute is expeditious and a real strategic performance.
We should all hope for the same hearty response when we are behind the wheel, suffering a reaction of some disorder or another.

Well, yeah, when those men are the authorities, and they are pointing pistols at you for crashing your car into a security barricade. Duh.
but when a cop slams through the barrier at top speed, he doesn’t get shot
