And, since the NEA has probably not been shut down as part of the "shut-down" (what with offensive art being considered "essential" by the current mal-Administration and all), my grant application would probably be reviewed on a schedule consistent with the normal efficiency-level of a federal agency. Which means I'd better hope the "shut-down" lasts more than 18 months...

It is a simple fact of nature that wherever leftists gather, they behave like slovenly animals (with apologies to slovenly animals everywhere). This holds true whether they are attending a "free" open-air concert, "occupying" a public park, or attending an Anti-America Rally in a "closed" National Park.
Obama should resign. She refuses to discuss spending. She looks very bad politically.
The Executive Branch ordered the shutdown, not the Congress. The Congress sent over a spending bill to fund the government and the democrats rejected it. Next action to discuss what to do is on the democrats.
It is not the Congress' responsibility to re-open the government especially those parts the Executive Branch (illegally) ordered shut down.
IMHO Obama should resign. Her political goose is cooked. She should leave while we will still give her a respectful "Good Bye". Then she can return to her home country, wherever that is.
