North Korea puts army on alert, warns U.S. of 'horrible disaster' 7:42pm EDT

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea said on Tuesday its military would be put on high alert and be ready to launch operations, stepping up tension after weeks of rhetoric directed against the United States and South Korea, who it accuses of instigating hostility.

Reclusive North Korea has often issued threats to attack the South and the United States but has rarely turned them into action. Such hostile rhetoric is widely seen as a means to perpetuate its domestic and international political agenda.

In the latest outburst, a spokesman for the North's military warned the United States of "disastrous consequences" for moving a group of ships, including an aircraft carrier, into a South Korean port.

"In this connection, the units of all services and army corps level of the KPA received an emergency order from its supreme command to reexamine the operation plans already ratified by it and keep themselves fully ready to promptly launch operations any time," the spokesman said, referring to the Korean People's Army (KPA).

"The U.S. will be wholly accountable for the unexpected horrible disaster to be met by its imperialist aggression forces' nuclear strike means," the spokesman said in a statement carried by the official KCNA news agency.

Temper tantrum? Hissy fit? Someone take away your toys? Have to sit in the corner?

Can we ever get rid of these gnats?

Shut up Tiny. Why don’t you and your pal Rodman come over here and I’ll whip both of your @$$es. It’s bad enough for Americans to have to put up with Barry’s crap. We don’t need any out of you.

The North Korea regime wants money, and/or food, and/or oil, and/or more jobs in the joint-economic zone - it wants something, so it uses bluster to create a crisis from which it will seek negotiations to end the crisis. And, during the negotiations the real desires of the north will be presented as demands to setttle the crisis - the crisis of its geopolitical bluster and outburst, the crisis of its own creation.

Why do they keep doing this? It works; South Korea and the U.S. usually give away something just to calm the dictators - for awhile, again; until next time. It’s time the success of the North’s blackmail was ended. It’s time that South Korea and the U.S. quit giving into it. It’s time that North Korea’s outbursts be met with LESS cooperation and LESS willingness to talk and with ending any ongoing cooperation or negotiations with each such outburst.

Get rid of gnats with ZerØ in the WH?

I’m sure he welcomes them. Bows to everyone one but our vets, and Americans.

Why is it not not a 1st amendment issue for civilians, family members, anyone to go visit our memorials and pay our respects?

Kim Il Whatever and Obama are kindred spirits.

One little thingy gets me about all of this ... this gives the 0bama crowd a reason for a false flag event in our Nation. Perhaps dennis rodman did deliver an 0bama message to the n.korean leadership. A minor thought only as to why ... now. 0bama crowd attacks here in U.S., n.korea is blamed and dennis rodman delivered payment to the sword rattling and told the n.korean leadership when to be out of town, after the false flag, and when 0bama’s return attack would be. Only thing which makes sense.

So-Damned-Insane said the same thing. Then he saw the miles of Iraq Military Machinery turned into a Metal Recycling yard of scrap.

A few months later they pulled the coward out of a hole.

Just something to think about.

Nah...the last check by zero and the politicians in DC either ran out or funds were suspended. Don’t you all recall how quickly the norks shutup not even six months ago? They were (and are) floating things up from our southern border; they want paid again.
