Sen. Jim Inhofe underwent emergency heart surgery in Tulsa on Friday after a routine test showed extreme blockage in five arteries. Inhofe had quadruple bypass surgery and was hospitalized at St. John Medical Center.

The Tulsa Republican said in an interview from the hospital Monday he felt great and was expecting to go home Tuesday. He said he'd return to Washington as soon as possible.

Inhofe, 78, said he has never had any kind of heart trouble and hadn't felt any symptoms of the blocked arteries.

The senator said he had a virtual colonoscopy last week. After a doctor looked at the results, he told Inhofe “your colon is fine but you have a heart problem.”

Prayers for recovery!

Inhofe is a good man. He worked with my grandma back during his insurance days.

When my grandpa died, Inhofe sent a letter of condolence.

Behind the scenes.. as a Conservative.. Inhofe is known as Batman lol... he’s doing a lot of work behind the scenes for us and not bothering to even to try to take credit.

He’s exempt from Obamacare, so he was taken care of immediately, even though he is a Republican. A run-of-the-mill 78 year old would be told that his appointment with a specialist to confirm the diagnosis will be in nine months. And if HE is a Republican, treatment will be “delayed”.

Go somewhere and die quietly, please!

This is exactly what happened to my father and he wasn’t even 78 yet. He was told, repeatedly, over a 2 year term that his cardiologists were ‘keeping an eye’ on his valve problems. Once heart failure set in they told him there was nothing they could do. That he was ‘too old’ for heart surgery. The cardiologist actually asked us ‘do you really want your father to have heart surgery at his age?’.

Fortunately we got a second opinion at Texas Heart Institute and he’s doing great post surgery.

His cardiologist at Texas Heart was floored that the previous practice had written him off. He wasn’t eve 75 yet when they did it either. Texas Heart said he should have been opened up for the first valve problem 2 years ago when it was first found. Waiting 2 years had damaged his heart even more and caused a second valve to have problems.

Texas Heart is supported by donations. Our family has found a new philanthropy.

Those who lose their insurance to obamacare, this condition at this age even much younger, would be an automatic death sentence.

I had surgery for atrial fibrillation last december. I’ve never seen a surgery room on tv or in hospitals like the one I went to. It was just banks of computers. The staff was all dressed like they were ready to go sledding. The room was frigid. (cold discourages he bugs and encourages the computers.) I was in one day and out the next.

The change in me was to me miraculous.

The procedure was science fiction 10 years ago.

The sad thing is that obamacare is going to slow down or stop the improvement in medical procedures.
