Obama: Raise the Debt Ceiling Or We're in Trouble

President Barack Obama said on Tuesday that the U.S. economy risks a “very deep recession” if Congress doesn’t raise the $16.7 trillion debt ceiling.

Speaking at a news conference at the White House, Obama said he’s willing to talk to Republicans about anything, including changes to his health-care law, once lawmakers end the partial government shutdown and increase the country’s borrowing authority.

“No American president would deal with a foreign leader like this,” he said, according to Bloomberg News. “Most of you would not deal with either coworkers or business associates in this fashion. We shouldn’t be dealing this way here in Washington.”

This from a twerp who knows nothing about economy!

It was my read, from the day he walked into the Oval Office, that he was WAY over his head with just about every issue.
His only area of expertise is/was racial politics. The stupid voters wanted a "black" man...and in this country being half and half makes one ALL black. I hate racial politics and all those victim groups who whine about....well, never mind, you get my drift.

What do you mean, "we"?

If we can't make do with the trillions we have coming in, start shutting things down. This time, don't start with the military.

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. ~~ Barack 0bama, March 20, 2006

If you have not seen this, you should. One of the best youtube videos ever, and directly about the subject at hand. It is also extremely entertaining and only three minutes long.

Less than two months into President Obama’s second term, new numbers show the national debt increased by more than $6 trillion since he took office.

It’s the largest increase to date under any U.S. president. During the eight-year presidency of George W. Bush, the debt soared by $4.9 trillion.

Without fanfare, the Bureau of Public Debt at the Treasury Department quietly posted its daily debt report showing the total public debt of the U.S. government topped $16.687 trillion. (To be exact: $16,687,289,180,215.37)

On January 20, 2009, the day Mr. Obama took office, the debt stood at $10.626 trillion. The latest posting reflects an increase of over $6 trillion.

I’m so confused. Didn’t this same idiot, as Senator in 2006, say increasing the debt limit was irresponsible and just a tool of evil Republicans to run up Bush debt?

Harry Reid said the same back then.

More and more Obama sounds like a junkie.

“Man, I just have to have more money! I got needs!”

And as with being addicted to heroin, such addiction to insane amounts of money does not end well.

Did you morph the pic on the right with Don Knots, or is he just starting to look a lot like a high-strung small-town deputy sheriff with an overactive imagination?

Dear Emperor Zero,

The American people refuse to negotiate with you until you resign from the office of the President. Then we will negotiate as long as you want.

Now just a cotton pickin’ minit here. Let’s be fair. Evil Republicans were running up Bush debt to pay for an unjust war against terrorism and Islam, just because some Islamists attacked America in the name of their religion. That’s the most oppressive crime perpetrated by the West since the British suppressed the Thugist sect in India in the 1820s, and like that campaign by imperialist Britain, it was not right to raise the US debt ceiling to pay for it.*

* All “just-a-cotton-pickin-minit” posts by E5 should be construed by readers to be followed by a sarc tab, even if it is omitted in the actual body of the text, so as to avoid dampening the impact of the satiric content until the readers realize of their own accord that it is meant as satire. An actual sarc tab would arrest that process in the average reader. This warning will be repeated from time to time, to avoid less swift freepers writing Jim and calling for my zotting.
