The Pisgah Inn sits on federal land on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. When the government shut down, the inn was forced to close right in the middle of the fall foliage tourism season.
Federal workers are likely to be paid retroactively, but the Pisgah Inn is losing money. And now, several days into the shutdown, the kitchen is tossing out food.

You are right in so far as whom is calling the shots on this “shutdown”. I doubt any lawsuit would be viable, but the thought is right on the mark.
And the Rangers said: “just followings orders”. They should do well when activated to become FEMA camp guards and goons.

The NPS Rangers have screwed the pooch on this one. They’ve decided they are law enforcement first and have changed their image from friendly servant to that of potential dog shooters.
The damage to their PR will be difficult to overcome.

Public relations for the Inn would be better served if they offered the food to a charity that feeds the needy. Then the regime would try to block the pick up, further revealing their true nature.
They are keeping people from coming into her parking lot.

She reported over the weekend that there were 5 armed guards in her parking lot 24/7.

Just imagine the press coverage if it was a Republican president doing this to American citizens. His own party would call for impeachment and removal from office!
