The Pisgah Inn sits on federal land on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. When the government shut down, the inn was forced to close right in the middle of the fall foliage tourism season.
Federal workers are likely to be paid retroactively, but the Pisgah Inn is losing money. And now, several days into the shutdown, the kitchen is tossing out food.

She reported over the weekend that there were 5 armed guards in her parking lot 24/7.
They are keeping people from coming into her parking lot.

The owner Bruce and his 90 year old mother need to get a court injunction to reopen. I hope the case can be expedited and the employees have a place to stay in the meantime.
Then bring 500. Or 5,000. And sue for breach of contract. And sue Obama for SPENDING money when the Anti Deficiency Act is in effect, so that his armed gauards are in violation thereof. No I do not blame those poor people in the least, just let them stand, and let us stand with them, for this abuse against private enterprise cannot be allowed to stand.
I wish I were an attorney so that I could take it on pro bono and I have no doubt that among Freepers, there is someone who can and will. This abuse of power cannot be allowed to stand.
Trust me on this. If food is being thrown away, some gub’mint workers are bringing it home. Salads and some perishables might go but steaks and high dollar items are going home with somebody.

I will never again look the same at those "friendly" park rangers. It is obviously all an act. They don't think the people own the parks; they think they do.

We had an incident here in central Alabama the other day. There is a boat ramp on the Alabama way out in the middle of nowhere. No one mans it, you just put your money in a box. Good ol’ boy went fishing. When he got back there was a note on his truck telling him that the ramp was closed due to the shutdown. He drove to the entrance and found it padlocked. He smashed the padlock with a hammer. The rangers showed up and told him they didn’t know anyone was using the ramp. He asked them “then who the ****” put the note on my truck.” The rangers backed off and let him go.
Protesters could take evasive action but overnight guests obviously need the space for parking for business to reopen. They are going to have a tough time coming back this season in any case without a sufficient stash of food on hand. God bless.
The problem with that is the courts are owned by Obama and his minions. Essentially, they, like us, are own their own as far as the protections afforded by the law are are concerned.
I would take steps to make sure that it was not fit to eat when I threw it out.
